Hyatt HB ocean/sea theme wedding

We work with all budgets and all levels of service ranging from Day of/which starts one month prior to full service, as i think you can tell from the blogs and Instagram posts.  I find it more interesting because everyone is different, rather than only dealing with the 1% and pretty much using the same vendors to create pretty much the same look/feel for each wedding with different colors and maybe an element or two to try to make it feel/look custom to that couple.  With our couples it’s a huge range, some are paying for everything themselves and they are a ‘normal’ working couple that just want their wedding at a nice hotel, for others they are lawyers/doctors/professionals that earn where they can have a wedding at a nice hotel but also have no strain financially on adding rentals/elements to make their wedding unique/different, and for some parent’s are paying so couple may or may not have much input and maybe a lot of items/decisions are compromises rather than the end result/style the couple may have had of they were paying.   So in saying that my vendor pool to offer to fit each couples style/budget/vision/priorities,  is huge and has to be, so with my couple’s weddings most of the time the team is different.

Todays blog is one of the couples that were paying for the wedding themselves, wanted a nice hotel, and were happy to make compromises to make that happen, ie, they had their wedding on a Friday morning and it was done by 4pm.  By doing it during the work day, their guest count was where they wanted it (non family/good friends generally won’t/can’t take a day off work) and they didn’t need to add lighting/a lot of décor to make the event look fab at night.  Shannon wanted sea/ocean feel, so you can see at the ceremony and in the ballroom what was done to make that happen and in the ballroom it was very effective and at very little cost.

Thanks to Joe Latter for the photos above, way better than my iPhone ones, lol, Jeff/Moondance Mobile Music for all the music/mceeing and as always a fab job, Karen’s Flowers (not on insta or website), Sweet Traders for the cake that turned out perfectly, and to our friends at Hyatt HB, as always, we make the dreams come true/guest’s experience a great event, and no matter what they spend, make them feel like the 1%.

Till next time

Ritz Laguna Plaza Room wedding

I had planned things with Yana and Leo for their end of year wedding at the Ritz-Carlton, this was their CA wedding and in being flexible and doing a thursday the week before xmas with their intimate group of 50, meant they could have it at a 5 star hotel with views and service to die for, because they had to watch their budget due to their wedding in Russia which was going to be huge a few weeks later (Yana is a bit of  a celebrity in Russia).

I was in Cabo looking at some of the best venues there for future weddings on their wedding date but Nicole was orchestrating/overseeing on the day with Darla’s assistance and they had a great vendor team, all of who know how Lisa likes things so I didn’t need to worry at all that it would not be a success, and of course it was, B&G were very happy.

Thanks to Joel Austell for the pics above, Shane Productions/video, EBD Floral as always for making things work out as our brides anticipate from the beginning, Rabbi Ian for as always doing a great Jewish ceremony and the Trotts who issued the CA marriage license at the hotel (they have done this for quite a few of our couples over the years and it’s starting to be more and more popular), Peter/Vive Entertainment for handling all the music and mceeing and keeping things on track with Nicole, and to everyone at the Ritz who again, helped us make a couple’s wedding dreams come true, thank you xoxo

Till next time

Hyatt HB Destination wedding

So Cece and Cleo and all their guests came from Memphis, Tennessee, for her CA Beach wedding.  There was about 50 in total that came and had a great CA vacay at the end of 2019.  Again, this is a situation where if you are flexible you can have your dream (and our dreams/budget/style are all so different) come true.  They chose to do it on a sunday and in the daytime (again, saves on lighting and puts the focus more on being together/the view etc.   Aunty Orlene officiated and i have to tell you, one of the best ceremonies ever, she was amazing!!

Originally they were on the Nautical deck for the ceremony and then coming to Sandpiper Room, using that patio for after cere socializing (no alcohol at this wedding), but as the time got closer and things became available, Cheryl at the Hyatt HB really worked with me to make this as special as we could for the couple and their guests.  They got to move to Lighthouse Courtyard and we angled the ceremony so they would not have guests walking over the bridge in the background, then we got to use the Red Chair Lounge patio for the socializing time and then into Sandpiper they came, where we did 3 long tables, 1 for bparty/linear style and the guest tables on each side, it really made for everyone feeling like they were together.  Cece had booked our services with one of my Day of Co-ordinators orchestrating on the day, but same thing for me if as the wedding gets closer I am not booked, then they get me on the day, which happened a few times in 2019, so lucky couples, i think/hope, lol!!

Great working with Joe Broccardo Photo, it had been a while (but i think the pics above are all mine though??!!), Karen’s Flowers (no insta or website), Sweet Traders for the cake as Cece wanted it, and Peter/Vive Entertainment for always being willing to work with the opportunities i present to him, lol xoxox

Ritz Laguna Wedding

This wedding just had a sweet story which is why I think from the hotel on, we all did what we could to make it happen.  The parents of the groom had been married at the Ritz Laguna 25 years ago, Bluff Lawn ceremony (at that time it was called Gazebo Lawn) and Pavilion Ballroom, well the B&G loved the Ritz and wanted to do the wedding there but budget was not allowing for the ‘normal’ wedding celebration, so…. they made adjustments, which is what everyone should do.

They did the wedding on a sunday morning, with a luncheon following.  No full bar, just champagne at cocktail time then wine with the meal.  Simple cere décor but it was very effective with that awesome backdrop, using centerpiece florals and then used everything the hotel provided in Pavilion Ballroom, no rentals, because in the daylight the view takes over anyway.  So same ceremony site/ballroom and date 25 years later for their son.  Pretty cool eh.  Thanks to EBD Floral for working with us to make it happen, Wendy/Orange County Harpist for the beautiful cere/cocktail music as always & Peter/Vive Entertainment for providing the music/mceeing in the ballroom, and to Dan and Tyler Photography for being so lovely to work with and for the pics above, and of course to the Ritz, for this one we definitely made a dream come true xoxoxo

TMMPRO for the dancefloor+custom decal/lighting&dry ice for the 1st dance, and Events by Milan for the floral/décor & Amor table that everyone loved!

Beautiful Ritz Laguna Terrace Salon wdg

When i showed Rachel her ballroom she gasped.  I said ‘it’s like a beautiful garden’ and she said ‘that’s exactly what i wanted and i didn’t even realise it’  thanks to Square Root for nailing it.  Look at that ceremony setup, stunning.

We did a mixture of rectangle and round tables in Terrace Salon and tons of candles.

It was a beautiful destination wedding for sure!! Thanks to Brett Hickman for the pics, it had been a while since we had worked together, good to be back, Hoo Films Video, Design Visage for hair/makeup, not only did Square Root do the gorgeous florals but they also did the linens/dancefloor/stage covers/uplights and TMMPRO did the chiavaris and the band/sheart&cake lighting.  Downbeat LA provided strings for the cere/cocktails and kept the dancefloor going, they were excellent.  Thanks again to the ladies & gentlemen at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna, always a pleasure to work with you to create these memories.

Another beautiful Plaza – Ritz Laguna wdg

Coco and Jacob, I and everyone that worked with them loved them.  Whatever she wanted he was going to make it happen.  She is a sweet English Rose that acts and is in entertainment and he an LA guy working in the entertainment industry, and they also just opened a lovely tea shop in LA

A ceremony backdrop hard to find anywhere and the same backdrop from the cocktail/Plaza Room balcony where I get to do my signature curved sofas there, because it makes sense, lol, and each bride customizes them with cushions they will use at home. Coco also ordered personalized napkins we used for dinner and gold flatware which they would be able to use after in their tea shop, smart girl!!

TMMPRO did the draping/dancefloor+decal/lighting&benches, EBD did the beautiful floral, Bishop Brian officiated a lovely catholic style service, Design Visage prettied up the ladies, not that Coco needed that, Naples Strings provided the ceremony&cocktail music and Angel from Elevated Pulse did an excellent job in the Plaza Room with mceeing and dinner then dancing music, and Luxe Linens provided the linens in the Plaza room.  We have Viral Booth OC open up after dinner in the foyer, and as always that was a huge hit.  Always lots of thanks to the Ritz Laguna team, together we make wedding dreams come true xoxoxo

Ritz Laguna – Ceremony + Terrace Salon

Ines loved red, so red we went for and with Square Root Floral Design it was very much a focal point from ceremony to ballroom.

Terrace Salon looked beautiful.

We started with a petal pattern down the aisle but Ines wasn’t digging it so we went for full carpet red petals and that looked rich and beautiful, sometimes those things become day of decisions and it’s just perfect.

The ceremony was held on Monarch Bay Sunset Terrace Lawn and right next to it is the Terrace where we had cocktails and the guests got to enjoy that same view and take as many selfies as they wanted/needed to and not hold up the after ceremony pics, lol.

We had a white dove release at the end of the ceremony, always a crowd and couple pleaser, my fave harpist Wendy played ceremony/cocktail music, TMMPRO provided the black dancefloor & decal which was the center of our room and lighting, and we had singers and a dance troupe for music/entertainment as most middle eastern/Arabic weddings do and it was fabulous.  Again, without our ladies & gentlemen at the Ritz Carlton Laguna, none of these wedding dreams would end as fabulously xoxox
