Monarch Beach Club

0043 copy

Such a lovely beach side wedding.  You must be a member of the beach club to have a wedding here.  That view is pretty hard to beat.  Lots of cute touches.  Thanks to Joe Latter for the photos, Design Visage for keeping Lauren’s hair and makeup look great all event in the elements, Monico Décor for the rentals, and of course the team at the Beach Club who were so fabulous and wanting to help me with everything.

End of year thank yous

Oops, got to hit post on this one as I have a bunch more to post from 2015, these below are from weddings at the end of 2014

It’s so lovely as the year ends to have the thank you notes coming in, at a time when you are maybe a bit weary and looking for a bit of a break, these notes remind you why you do what you do, and get you motivated to start all over again with another year of lovely couples.

Handwritten cards:
From a vendor whose daughter’s wedding I did, she gave me this card the night of the wedding:
Dear Lisa, Thank you soo much for all your help organizing Amanda’s wedding! You are the best! I will always tell people you were my daughters wedding coordinator! Hugs, Wendy

Lisa, Thank you so much for all of your hard work in making our wedding day so special! We truly don’t know what we would have done without you. You are excellent at what you do. Everything ran so smoothly and we really appreciated having you there. Best Anne & Marshall

From a wedding I did for one of our lovely hotel peeps who I have worked with and known for a few years:
Lisa! Thank you for being a part of this day! I appreciate everything that you have done for us to make this day special. I love you so much and couldn’t think about anyone but you to make this day special and memorable. Love you! Holly and James

From a 2015 bride that I met for the first time when she came into town for her hotel tasting/floral sample day, until that time everything we planned/were doing was by phone/email/web:
Dear Lisa. Thank you so very much for all of your help over the past months. I know that the wedding hasn’t even occurred yet, but if it is anything like the tasting, walkthrough, floral sample and linen sample, I know it will be amazing. You truly are gifted at your job! Counting the days until we see you in January! Cathy & Keith

Email thank yous:
From the same vendor above, she sent this email 2 days after the wedding:
Dear Lisa, Thank you so very much for making Amanda’s wedding come off so wonderfully. I always have admired how excellent your weddings are!!! You are AMAZING!! Organizational skills off the charts!! Looking forward to working with you soon. God bless. Wendy

This email came from a groom a few months after their wedding, he had a wicked sense of humor that kept me very amused during the planning months and on the wedding day:
Hello Lisa, We finally received our pictures from the photographer, and I looked great! However, that is not the reason for this email. I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how much fun everyone had at the wedding, and I personally thought that the room and the rep was really beautiful. Now typically, I don’t get too crazy about these things, but it really was over the top beautiful And a lot of the guests commented on how it was one of the nicest weddings they’ve been to – I don’t know if this was BS but I don’t think it was. Anyway you really did a stand-up job Lisa. If I know anyone else getting married in LA I will refer your services. Great work and thanks again. Damon & Tai

And from his bride, came this email:
Thank you so much Lisa! You did a wonderful job

Hi Lisa, I wanted to send you a note thanking you for all that you did to make our wedding so spectacular. Our wedding was everything I had dreamed of and much much more. Club 19 turned out absolutely perfect. You had everything set up just the way I had envisioned it. I can’t wait to see Jim’s pics. Thank you for keeping us on track throughout the day and for all your help and assistance with the vendors and the guidance leading up to the big event. Couldn’t have done it without you. I’ve had so many people ask me did anything go wrong that day and I’ve said ‘not a thing, it was perfect’. Thank you for that. Thanks again for making our day so special and perfect. Best, Stephanie Craig

And from her groom came an email also:
Just wanted to thank you for the help with the wedding Lisa!
Kelly

From my Indian wedding two weeks ago:
Hello Lisa, My dad and I want to thank you for throwing such an AMAZING and memorable event this past weekend. You helped keep us all in line when we needed it the most. Thank you for everything, everyone is STILL talking bout the weekend, especially the wedding ceremony, which could not have been more perfect. Thank you for everything. Love, Ragini and Vishwa

Ahhh, you all warm my heart, thank you
Till next time

Fun Hyatt Huntington Beach wedding

Lisa + Mike-00087 copy

This is the view my bride Lisa (yes I have a few of those, weird isn’t it!!) had herself, the groom, and their friends/family (about 50 of them) fly across the country for.

This wedding was all about fun for those that made the trip and embracing the fact that they were at the beach.  Everyone was to wear flip flops and yes that is sand scattered over the placecard table.  They had Epod photobooth, rentals by Monico Décor, a guitarist for cere/cocktails and one of my fave djs for the dinner/dancing.  Design Visage kept my bride looking lovely from beginning to end, lovely florals from one of my lovely fave florists, and photos by Joel Austell.

Lisa + Mike-00643 copy

It was all about the cake, and not because of how the cake looked on the outside, but because of what color the inside of the cake they cut into was, why……. because if it was blue my bride was going to have a baby boy and if it was pink a girl, guess what it was pink.  There were tears everywhere, including from me!! So touching and memorable.

Till tomorrow

Aruba wedding

photo 2 photo 3 photo 4 photo 5

What you see above is the epitomy of Aruba. Beautiful days and blue ocean, gorgeous evenings and sunsets.  Many many hotels and locations around the hotel to have a beautiful wedding ceremony and celebration after.  So many hotel options that if your guests don’t want to stay where you are for some reason, they don’t have to and it won’t cost and arm and a leg to travel back and forth to their hotel.  fun things to do in the days leading up to the wedding for those interested if you want to do some group activities.  If you are interested in a wedding in Aruba, let me help you.  I’ve been a couple of times and know the area/hotels well.

photo 6 photo 7

Now not for everyone, but if the tropical island is not your thing for the wedding, but the honeymoon yes.  How about Panama?  The space above is banquet space that looks right over the Panama Canal so while guests are eating/dancing/socializing they can be watching huge ships going through the lochs, its pretty amazing.  Lots of things to do in and around Panama City, there’s an old town which is great, plus beautiful beaches and rainforest day trips, then you can head to Aruba for your honeymoon and guests can head home or to whatever Caribbean island they want to end their trip on/at.

photo

Aruba, pre dinner on the sand, or how about your wedding and celebration both being held on the sand??!!  Its all possible.

Till next time

Ritz-Carlton Laguna Wedding

DSCN3563

Finally posting this lovely wedding.  Really unusual story, the bride’s Chinese father has a home close to the Ritz he lives at part of the time and decided the Ritz would be the perfect place for her to get married at.  The father’s assistant and I pulled everything together.  The bride and groom and most of the guests flew in from China and did not speak English but were able to let me know at the end they were very happy with everything.

Everyone sat at a U-shape table with the Pacific Ocean as the focus/main view during this daytime celebration.

Another beautiful event with Square Root Floral Designs.

Till tomorrow

Thank yous received this week

so this last week was actually a while ago, I just forgot to go back and post.  So it was sitting here all ready to go, so here we go …………….

So lucky that my brides take time to let me know how happy they were,  That makes my day/month/year too!!!

A lovely handwritten note  dated – September 19, 2014

Dear Lisa, It’s impossible to contain all the things we need to thank you for in this small letter of appreciation!! We thank you so much for all your help & expertise with our beautiful Ritz-Carlton wedding.  You were there for us every step of the way, and we consider you to be one of our most valuable vendors & advisors! Thank you for everything! We hope to see you soon. Love Michael & Holly

Before the madness starts this weekend, I just wanted to say how thankful I am and have been for your help during this process.  Things have run so smoothly, and I know we have assembled a great team of vendors and that everything will go well. Almost at the finish line!  Anne

Lisa, we wanted to send you an email earlier this week but we decided to extend our stay in Santa Barbara for a little more relaxation.  We just walked in the door and I wanted to send a quick note to thank you for EVERYTHING. Over the last few months you have helped us plan our dream wedding – and Sunday was exactly that.  I couldn’t have asked for more – I wouldn’t have changed a thing and for that I have to hank you.  I laugh thinking about my persistence in the beginning of the planning process thinking I could do this all on my own.  Boy did you prove me wrong! Your emails, helpful reminders and phone calls helped me stay on track and definitely alleviated the anxiety all brides feel while planning a wedding.  Every one of your vendor recommendations was amazing too – my flowers, dj, priest, hair/makeup, were perfect.  In fact, every person that attended the wedding told us the same thing – the wedding was the most beautiful they have attended and the effort we put into every detail showed.  It was perfect and honestly the best day of my life.  Thank you soo soo much for helping us pull it off. You have been a pleasure to work with.  Thanks again for everything and hope our paths cross again sometime soon.  Keep in touch, Nicole

Ritz-Carlton Laguna, Sunset Terrace/Plaza wedding

FabiaWed_0818-XL[1]

Fabia wanted an intimate celebration with an ocean view and wanted the feel of the ocean to be a part of the floral design/feel.  So the Ritz Carlton’s Plaza was the perfect location and Karla/EBD floral Design pulled the feel together perfectly, the ceremony site was just lovely.  Fabia was thrilled.  Thanks to my vendor friends who made up the team to ensure a great celebration for this fun couple.  Andrena of Andrena photography (and thanks for the photos below/above), Marc of The Emotion Picture Studio/video, Larson Lighting, Naples Chamber music for great cere and cocktail music as always.  Brent Edwards for a lovely wedding ceremony, and my A1 guy Peter/Vive Ent for the great music/environment/good time he created inside.  The B&G were loving the music so much they and one other couple danced alone, everyone else was gone, for the last hour of the event.  They were having a great time

Wine Room – St Regis Monarch Beach – wedding

photo 7

There is always something to be said when you are able to keep your guest list to a minimum, go crazy on linens/décor and treat your guests to a food and beverage experience, especially when the bride is a celebrity chef, you know the food and beverage is going to be eagerly anticipated.  Along with the brides moms involvement, we created a warm environment in a ‘cooler’ room (wine cellars/rooms are always at a lower temperature, don’t forget that, so pashminas were provided for the ladies) and it turned out fabulous.  Karla/Elegant by Design jumped right on board and ‘got it’, Monico Décor provided the linens/overlay for the whole table and chivaris and chair toppers, Peter of Vive Ent kept the corner dancefloor filled.  This was one bride who when I said to order tea sandwiches for after hair/makeup has been finished so the ladies would have something to eat pre cere beginning, knew what I meant and had a beautiful display of tea sandwiches pre-ordered, I did a bit of quality control on the taste and can attest to the fact that St Regis did them beautifully as they would be done in a lovely English tea room!!! Thanks to Eileen at the St Regis that was hands on and all over the place to ensure everything from the hotels standpoint went well, and of course the banquet, beverage  and culinary teams who out did themselves.  Just as I love it when guests applaud as a bride walks up an aisle or the parents do, I really love it when a chef comes into the room and he gets a standing O!!!

Plaza Room, Ritz-Carlton, Laguna

photo 9

Crystal and I had a great time pulling her wedding together.  Happy yellow was one of her colors from the beginning and I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but as time went on and the design/visage came together, using the white along with the platinum silver, oh and a bit of bling, it all worked well together.  We also wanted to do something different with the tables in Plaza, so we kept her guest list down so we could do 4 rectangle tables rather than the normal rounds to maximize guest count.  I loved how it all turned out.

Rancho Las Lomas wedding

Greene_1114

I had a blast with this family, loved them.  Mom booked me for month of service but used my preferred vendor list and definitely checked in with me along the way.  Once I officially began we had a couple of really fun meetings, one of which included us cocktail tasting to ensure we picked the ‘right’ cocktails to have as the ‘signature’ cocktails.

One of my fave vendor teams were on this one: Frank Salas (thanks for the photos as always), Karla/Elegant by Design for the florals, so creative and in keeping with our brides style/vision/feel.  Marc from The Emotion Picture Studio/video, Design Visage for ensuring my bride looked gorgeous still at the end of the night, wish I could have said the same for my makeup that I had done much earlier in the day, oh well!!! Undercover Band for the great music on the lower level for dinner and first part of the dancing, DJ Nigel for the great Caribbean music for the after party upstairs (the family is from Barbados).  Essence Entertainment for sending over one of my fave guitarists to cover cocktails for 2 hours.  And to the groom for having the great taste to have The Habit Truck come at the end, not only did the guests enjoy them burgers, but the vendors were lucky enough to have some too and at the end of the night that was very much appreciated.
