Sandals Montego Bay Jamaica

Well today seems like a great day to post about this property, as one of my couples just arrived there today for their babymoon and will get to enjoy their swim out room and this resort that is like new, as well as the Royal Caribbean just down the road.  Above is the lobby.  When i first visited this resort in 2005 this was the entertainment room and the ceiling was like a puffy circus tent and it was, well, kind of cheesy!!  This was the original Sandals Resort and it was definitely tired.  Since then i came back in 2016/17 and got to see the change starting and in 18/19 to see it now complete. The entertainment room is now the lobby and the first thing you see when you walk in is the beautiful blue ocean through the other side and it just draws you in.  The resort is now hip/cool and a great spot to hang/vacay and there are fun things to do in Montego Bay area if you want to leave the resort!

this area is right through that lobby door, a great seating area to have a mocktail or cocktail and look at that ocean and enjoy the sea breeze.

this was my room on my last stay and the view looking down the path back towards the lobby/restaurant/main action area.

One of the swim out butler rooms with ocean view, and there is now a new block with swim out rooms with garden surrounds, a great use of a back block of rooms that will now make them very wanted!!

This is a bar surrounded by a pool with a mini lazy river, very relaxing with that cocktail in hand, yes i did!!

And guess what, right now all rooms at Montego Bay get a private transfer in a luxury vehicle, no idea for how long, but for new bookings, so call/email/text/dm, whatever you need to do, let’s get you there, most of the world is closed to American’s now and for who knows how long, so if you are looking to vacay, honeymoon or even if you wedding plans were ruined due to Covid, lets get the two of you there or a small or large group of you and do the wedding right here!!

Till next time

Sandals Bahamas

I have been to the Bahamas around 10 times, and spent two of those trips right here at Sandals, minutes from downtown Nassau.  Its a lovely property with a private island, where i spend most of my time, reading/hanging out/relaxing/swimming/massaging!

Can you see why i like the private island, the pics above from the boat to here are all there, no one in sight, so calm

This was the view from my last room, above and below, looking at the pool for the action and then pivot to the right and it was all ocean looking over to the private island

On my last trip i did a duo, spent some time in Nassau and then flew to Exuma and spent time at the Sandals there, so relaxing and the water is amazing.  If you are a golfer, this is a bucket list trip as you are playing right along the ocean so spectacular views while playing and of course a Jack Nicolas course

It was a bit stormy while there but the water was still beautiful blue

Meanwhile back in Nassau…. above and below

With certain butler rooms at Sandals Nassau/Royal, you get picked up at the airport and taken back in a Bentley or fancy Mercedes, that’s the way to arrive in style and not be too sad about leaving, right!

Let me get you there

Till next time

Southcoast Sandals/Jamaica

I first visited this resort right as it was opening, and loved it.  Quiet/spread out, all rooms have a view of the water!!  Had not been back, so it was long overdue.

The first overwater bar Sandals had and a great spot to have a drink it was!!  And one of the signature large Sandals pools, it was nearly empty every time i enjoyed it.

I was there as they were breaking ground for the overwaters, very exciting. If you are looking for calm/relaxing and more beach than you could use, this is the resort for you!

Till next time

Sandals Grenada

This is the newest addition to the Sandals Family.  I had missed a couple of fam trips but got to go with my husband end of 2018 and was really pleased I got to experience a vacation there with him, not working, lol.  this was the view from our 2 level suite, looking down on the pool from the swim out rooms, across the resort to that beautiful caribbean.

We actually left the resort (sometimes we don’t on our trips) and the view above is the downtown area, we went on a snorkelling trip to see the famous circle of friends an underwater sculpture, very cool.

The pic above is one of the suites with their own infinity pool and awesome views.  i have had couples honeymoon right here in these and they raved about it.

As always the grounds/flowers are beautiful to walk around/enjoy

the pic above and below is one of the rondoval suites with their own jacuzzi and plunge pool, very popular, and cool

Lots of places to sit, relax and just enjoy, around this really intimate resort

This is what you normally see pics of from this resort, the seating area inside the pool where you don’t get wet to be there/enjoy

Let’s think Destination wedding or Vow Renewal, should we??

A Butch’s chophouse can be found here (Barbados is great because you can do the chophouse and steakhouse there), and the atmosphere and food is … yuuuum

Always an English Pub at each resort, great for just hanging out

My fave cocktail, banana and chocolate and cream, yeahhhhhhhhhh

Ok, realising it’s now 7 months since i have travelled to the Caribbean due to Coronavirus, I am realising its time to go back, soon Lisa, soon

Till next time

Sandals family Resorts – Beaches Resorts

So if you love everything that a Sandals Resorts offers, the range of room types, service options including butlers, the quality, all the food and beverages being included, resort entertainment and activities included, airport transfers included, but you now have kids, or you are a group of friends, guys or girls, or both, and don’t want to share a bed (yes Sandals only does one bed per room, no rollaways lol!!) or want to do a multi family trip and a Sandals Resort isn’t going to work, then a Beaches Resort will work for you, they offer all the above and more because you still want adult time right??? so the options for kids/all age groups to do to keep them busy is awesome.

And yes, they will come to the bedroom and say goodnight to the wee ones!!

Let me get you there!!!!  Beaches Resorts are located on the islands of Turks & Caicos (right on Grace Beach, its gorgeous), and two in Jamaica, Negril where again the beach is lovely/best beach in Jamaica, its very quiet/relaxing and you have access to do other fun things on that side of the island, Ricks place is well worth the boat or cab ride and some rum drinks with fun music to listen or dance to while you watch silly peeps jumping off the cliffs, lol, and Ocho Rios the port are of Jamaica, so more busy/things to see/do outside of the resort, this resort is made up of 5 villages, the Greek Village is my fave!!

You can also incorporate a renewal of vows if you want, or have your friends/family come to celebrate your destination wedding with you!!!

Till next time

Destination wedding St Vincent & the Grenadines

We left on our yacht charter from St Vincent, caught a boat there from Bequia, but stayed on St Vincent pre and post, so took a good look around and found a few great hotels for destination weddings.  Again, this is for the couple that is looking for off the main Caribbean island tourist route, takes a bit more effort to get there, but well worth it.

So if interested, I can help you plan it all.

Till next time

Bequia destination wedding

You probably have not heard of Bequia, it’s one of the islands not easy to get to in the Caribbean which for some that makes it even more special.  It is part of the St Vincent and the Grenadines group and before a yacht charter we did from there (which is the only way to see these islands as big cruise ships can not get in close to the islands and for most of the islands like Mustique with only 2 cabs, the infrastructure of the islands could not handle thousands of people getting off a boat and taking over their island for a few hours.  So these island are still very slow/natural and yes, a lot of celebrities have homes on some of these islands, not suprising!!

So anyway, I found this cool hotel, has rooms down by the water, a lovely restaurant that opens to the water view and a huge ‘house style’ building up the hill (they drive you up and back” with views to die for and multi rooms, so for an intimate destination wedding this would be perfect, you could take over the whole resort, do the ceremony and reception wherever you want, up the top with the views or close to the water, and for pre and post wedding activities, we can hire a yacht for sunset cruises, go to neighbouring islands on a day trip and after the wedding you can head off to one of the islands for your honeymoon and your guests can too or charter a yacht or head back to Barbados (best way to get to/from these islands) and stay there or head to more known islands (ie I can help with Sandals all inclusive resorts) with as much to do or as little as that want, based on how they like to vacation.

Not giving the name of the resort, you have to book me to do your wedding with you there, lol.

Till next time

Barbados wedding or honeymoon

I have actually been a certified Sandals specialist for the past 12 years and have sent many couples to the resorts in the Caribbean on their honeymoon.  On my recent trips I noticed a huge change, many more couples on vacation-young to older, groups of couples travelling together, and adult family groups staying.  So its time to open it up to everyone, let me take you there for whatever your reason is, vacation, wedding, honeymoon.

Here’s a couple of great options for a Barbados wedding.  These pics are the current Sandals Resort ( 2nd one is coming).  Above a lovely space for an intimate wedding dinner celebration if you have a group of people that come with you, and the other pics are maybe my fave accommodations at the resorts, the walk out into the pool rooms.

View from the swim out room and looking at the patio area, love love love

Its not a wedding setup, but the chandeliers in this intimate room for an indoor wedding reception where you can have dancing until late, and air conditioning, are quite lovely.  The cake pop picture is actually the cake tasting plate all couples get to enjoy/make their wedding cake decisions from

A ceremony setup on the beach and a view a bit further down the beach as the sun was setting.

I loved the coloring of these cabanas and could imagine a good photographer getting some great pics of a B&G in these.

Here is another resort I have stayed at in Barbados, the Crane.  I love love it, on the east side of the island past the airport.  So grand and very English looking/feeling to me.  Its on a bluff so very high up giving great views.  The pool above is actually a Jacuzzi with awesome views

Some of the accommodations and another pool area

One of the top beaches in the world.  The sand is just beautiful and the building above is a really lovely restaurant with views that amaze

A banquet room with views and a stage that rumor has it a very famous rocker has one of his homes down the hill and his band came over and had a session on it one night!!!

That elevator is how you get down to the beach if you are lazy like me!!

View of the beach by the elevator from above.  Suite style accommodation for very reasonable pricing

The high quality balcony furniture, I may have had a nap out there they were so comfy.  Apparantly Mick Jagger had been there not long before us and had accommodation like ours but on the lower level where they had their own good size pool!! I would have never left my room waiting to get a glimpse, lol

Living area and bedroom, bed was soooo comfy

Yes that bath got used by me and it was great.  The walkway for the upper floor in the area we stayed, very tropical and lovely, no boring hotel hallway here.

The restaurants and food at both resorts are fabulous, amenities high quality/service excellent.  Sandals is all inclusive so that becomes hard to beat, but maybe you can be like me and experience both!!

Let me take you to Barbados for your weddingmoon for just the two of you, or an intimate group or a large group.  Or if thinking honeymoon or just a vacation because you deserve it, you will love the Sandals Resort, and a new one is opening in December.

Till next time

St kitts/Nevis weddings

photo 2

Dreaming of a feet in the sand ceremony but want to go somewhere you don’t hear of that much……..The Caribbean Islands of St Kitts and Nevis could be for you.  You could have your wedding/fun with everyone on St Kitts and then head to Nevis for your honeymoon, or pick Nevis as the island to do it all.  Lovely resorts/boutique properties on both.  The above is a ceremony on St Kitts.

photo 3 photo 4

The evening view is from the restaurant on Nevis at the Four Seasons (which I love) looking back to the lights on St Kitts.  You can buy out the restaurant and have your reception/dinner/dance here which is open air and a lovely space.  The view on the right is the mountain on Nevis, so look to the right and you see the mountain, look to the left and you are looking at the ocean and St Kitts.  The view above was taken at the spa at the Four Seasons after a lovely massage treatment.  My second time here and the spa was as good as I remember from last time!!

photo 5 photo

The Marriott St Kitts has a combination of accommodations, villas that can sleep up to 8 and have full kitchen facilities and normal hotel rooms, so should fit everyone’s budget if everyone wants to stay at the hotel you are at. More than one pool, so doing cocktails/pre event or even your dinner/dancing around a pool is a great option.  Excellent pizza when hungry late at night, hint hint, from the pizza hut.

When you are ready to book your Nevis or St Kitts wedding and want my help, let me know

Aruba wedding

photo 2 photo 3 photo 4 photo 5

What you see above is the epitomy of Aruba. Beautiful days and blue ocean, gorgeous evenings and sunsets.  Many many hotels and locations around the hotel to have a beautiful wedding ceremony and celebration after.  So many hotel options that if your guests don’t want to stay where you are for some reason, they don’t have to and it won’t cost and arm and a leg to travel back and forth to their hotel.  fun things to do in the days leading up to the wedding for those interested if you want to do some group activities.  If you are interested in a wedding in Aruba, let me help you.  I’ve been a couple of times and know the area/hotels well.

photo 6 photo 7

Now not for everyone, but if the tropical island is not your thing for the wedding, but the honeymoon yes.  How about Panama?  The space above is banquet space that looks right over the Panama Canal so while guests are eating/dancing/socializing they can be watching huge ships going through the lochs, its pretty amazing.  Lots of things to do in and around Panama City, there’s an old town which is great, plus beautiful beaches and rainforest day trips, then you can head to Aruba for your honeymoon and guests can head home or to whatever Caribbean island they want to end their trip on/at.

photo

Aruba, pre dinner on the sand, or how about your wedding and celebration both being held on the sand??!!  Its all possible.

Till next time
