Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa
I was invited to experience some of the food and views of the above resort this week, so headed on down. The food was excellent, my favorite – bubbly was ever present, but what really made the drive worth while (not that an 1 1/2 hours is really considered a drive here in S CA) is sitting on the lounge furniture looking across the harbor to downtown San Diego. We enjoyed that view in the daylight, then the dusk, and then the night view with all the buildings lit up, a beautiful cityscape.
You get married on a lovely lawn with the harbor and city skyline as your backdrop, cocktails with the same view, then depending on your choice or group size, can go to a smaller banquet area with a lake/pond outlook where everyone dines on the patio and then dancing is done inside a room that opens to that patio, so if some guest don’t want to leave but don’t want to dance, they don’t have to. Or you can go to the large ballroom that can accommodate up to 400 with a large foyer with really unusual windows that open up giving a real inside/outside feel, can feel the ocean breeze etc, or your guests walk along the shoreline to an area that you have put a canopy up on with chandeliers hanging from the center and if needed, have the see through sides up or down as needed during the event. Fabulous.
For any celebrations large or small from out of state/country, this is a great location, very memorable, and for SD locals or couples from Orange or LA counties your guests can drive home if they want, but why would you, this is a perfect op for an overnighter making a local wedding feel like a destination wedding without the expense of major travel, and yet you feel like you are a million miles away from home and get to go home refreshed and with great memories of a wonderful celebration.
Really nice team of folks at the resort also.
If you are interested in finding out more about having a wedding here, or how I can help you/be a part of your wedding celebration at this resort, give me a call or an email.
Till next time

Unique venue
Hotel Seven4One opened in Laguna Beach a couple of years ago as a boutique hotel and was a bit hip/unique vibe compared to everything else in the downtown area. Well as time has gone on they have changed their whole purpose, and now only get ‘rented out’ when someone wants to book all the rooms inconjunction with doing an event there or just a big group wanting to be in the same accommodation, but where are you going to find a ‘home’ that can comfortably sleep 24 and have enough bathrooms and space that you don’t feel like you are tripping over each other, well here is your answer.
For either a small wedding, they have a lovely balcony with ocean view, or a group coming in to go to a wedding at a hotel in Dana Point or elsewhere, here you get breakfast (I think) but drinks (for the whole time you are there) included and they can handle any meals you may want to include, or the restaurants of downtown are a 4 minute walk down or up the hill, very convenient to mainbeach Laguna. There is a central open area in the middle with a cool fireplace for just hanging and a nice bar area in the front where you can people watch everyone walking by and they don’t even realise you are there.
Definately worth a thought for a group or intimate wedding there or in the area.
Let me know if you are interested.

Busy time
Been very out and about over the past 7 days. Had one couple in from out of state for three days and we were starting from scratch, location seeking and also getting a feel for some vendors. We saw 18 locations and have it narrowed down to 2, 1 that seems to be the winner as of this minute, in Temecula. Can’t wait to hear the final decision. Then we can secure or let go some of the vendors we met with and get their location/vendors all sown up. I kept them busy.
My other couple are very busy and from central CA and had 3 days to spend with me also . Previously the bride and I had met with the photographer they had chosen from the options I had suggested for them, we met/booked, done. This trip was floral/invites, and the groom was coming too. I had 3 floral appts lined up (normally only suggest 2 but the groom wanted to ensure we saw a range) and a backup, each one was different in style/pricing. After the first one we had had such a great time pulling the vision together with her, we nixed the others and went and ate instead. Did some invite shopping. As we had secured the cere music & dj by my recommendations/phone chats prior to this trip, we were now in great shape, and so we detailed out the whole wedding day with all our key team players in place, and then went and celebrated with a lovely meal and some champagne, we used all the time we had well, LOL. Wedding planning coming along beautifully. Next trip, tasting and more champagne, can’t wait.
Till next time
