Another intimate Ritz Laguna wedding

Tina and Steve picked the Monday of Thanksgiving week to have their intimate wedding so the families could also be together for Thanksgiving and make a vacation of it here in S CA.  Smart cookies.  Originally they had booked the Private Dining Room to have dinner after the ceremony, then as we got talking they realized they may want to dance/spend timing moving around and not stuck at a table, so we moved to the Plaza Room and balcony.

Tina loves blue and the ocean, so no flowers, it was about seafoam chiffon flowing in the wind like ocean waves coming onto the shore, and along the center of the table were containers that had candles/starfish/coral etc in them and we enhanced with blue uplights.

We added bistro lights and benches to the balcony of Plaza Room where the bar would stay and people spent the whole evening going in and out, hearing the waves crashing on the beach, feeling that wonderful fresh air.  As it gets darker that time of year, we did a mid afternoon ceremony and we were all done by 10pm, wow, home by 11pm to watch WWHL on a Monday after a wedding, i could do that every day of the week!!   Love it when i can keep my vendor peeps busy on a week day/night – thanks to Tony Florez photo, Paul Uhlar/officiating with that lovely voice of his, Design Visage for prettying the ladies up, Karens Flowers (no insta or website) and Jeff/Moondance Mobile music for the music/djing/mceeing as we needed it throughout the event, and TMMPRO for the rental chairs/lighting/benches, and of course to the ladies & gentlemen at the Ritz-Carlton for always helping us make intimate weddings feel just as important/special as big events.

Till next time

Intimate Private dining room wedding – Ritz-Carlton Laguna

I love intimate weddings, they tend to be weekday and are so different, either a lot is spent on a small group of people or it’s a way to keep the wedding budget low but because its intimate everyone feels that it’s a very special celebration to be a part of.

Cindy and Doug got married on the Bluff Lawn and their bridal party was their beloved fur baby, i took so many pics of him looking at them, lying on the grass during the cere, he was hilarious, well behaved just kind of bored!!

They had 18 guests total and while the B&G went down to the beach for photos the guests enjoyed champagne at the firepit area with a view to die for of the Pacific Ocean, then …

everyone met at the Private Dining room where they had a lovely special dinner.

A friend played the keyboard during the ceremony, Bishop Brian officiated with a catholic style service and EBD Floral did the fabulous ceremony circle and florals on the PDR table.  And of course our friends at the Ritz-Carlton ensured our small group felt very very special xoxoxox

Monarch Beach Resort wedding

I loved Dan and Lisa, still do as we chat via Instagram, lol, for many reasons.  A) they are just fun and it was all about the bar at their wedding, B) they happen to work for a medical group of Drs, that i did 2 daughters of one of the head of the group and i did another Doctor’s wedding about 15 years ago and his sister, and none of them knew any of this about me and them until this wedding when it all came together, and they were there on the day, small world right!!

We had the ceremony at Botanical Garden (did you know i did the first ever wedding there, 17 years ago), cocktails on Botanical Lawn with a beautiful view over the golf course/water features out to the Pacific Ocean in the distance which we ended after sunset so the guests could enjoy and get all the selfies they wanted/needed, and then to the dining patio at Club 19 and we created a club feel inside Club 19 for the dancing/socializing portion of the celebration after dinner.  Someone very special to them was a part of the ceremony, their fur baby Gizmo, he and i chat via Instagram too, as he has his own handle!! lol

We built a great vendor team, Sarah Mack was the photographer (but i think all the photos above are mine for some reason??), Paul Uhlar officiated-great voice, Design Visage did the hair/makeup needed, Karen’s flowers did the florals (no Instagram or website) Jeff/Moondance Mobile music provided what we needed in all areas-love working with him, Viralbooth OC was a hit in the club party room, and TMMPRO provided the chiavaris, glossy dancefloor, benches, lighting.  And of course the team at MBR always a joy to be there with them xoxoxo

Another Fashion Island Hotel

We really attract lovely couples, so lucky!! Here is another, Katie and Michael.  This was one where they booked a small service where i pulled all their planning together and then Nicole one of my Day of Co-ordinators ran the event on the day.  The ceremony was on the Cabana Patio then the guests went to the side patio for cocktails while the ceremony site was turned for the dining, inside the Cabana Room we had a white glossy dancefloor/benches/lighting for the party (all done by TMMPRO, unfortunately no photos taken of the dancing room by Nicole as she gets busy remember) and the cake (a way to get everyone inside and around the dancefloor and get the party going).  The arch used for the ceremony was also used as the backdrop to their sweetheart table and all the florals were done by Brandi/Finishing Touch with Doug and the team there on the day bringing the vision to life.  Thanks for the pics Jared Fix Photography, he was really easy to work with, and of course a huge thanks as always to the team at the Fashion Island Hotel, where we love to work xoxoo

San Clemente Cottage Wedding

Well i guess it says a lot about me, my style or the fact that nothing goes wrong at my weddings, lol, but I get asked to do quite a few weddings for vendors/themselves or their children and hotel peeps, themselves or friends of theirs.  So i was honored again to be asked if i would do a wedding for one of my fave Chef’s at one of the hotels i am at a lot.  Of course i said yes.

They live in San Clemente and wanted to do the wedding there and found this venue that i would have never found, it had a gorgeous Pacific ocean view, and they lucked out as their wedding was early November and they had a gorgeous day for an all outdoors wedding.  They knew Kathy at Trinity Staging where they had lots of cool vintagy furniture we used for the ceremony and seating areas, there were no tables/formal seating ops.  Our groom/Chef did all the food with the help of some of his pals and what a spread it was for the lucky guests.  They had a band that played for cocktails/dinner/dancing and all the other vendor areas were people they knew.  It was a great celebration full of love and heart and i was really really happy to help them as i could

The ceremony was done in the center front part of the open courtyard so the ocean was 180 degrees the backdrop, with ecleptic seating, then after the ceremony I turned the seating into groupings, so along with the sofa/chair other seating areas, people could pick and choose where/the style of seating they preferred.

This was just the beginning of the food spread and they never ran out!

The happy couple, they are now 1 1/2 years married, and i last saw them at another Chef’s wedding just before their 1 year anniversary.  The pic above with 3 lovely men and me, well they have been/are chefs at the Ritz Laguna and we have all worked together for many years, i appreciate their fabulous food and they appreciate the importance i put on dinner service being within 5 mins on the timeline!!!

This was how it looked during dancing/socializing.  Then around 9pm when it was done, the cool ocean breeze picked up and it was done (4pm ceremony so it ended around sunset time).

Laguna Cliffs Marriott Wedding

Migzy and Andrew were just the loveliest.  They were my 2nd couple in a few months to do the sayings on the boards down the aisle!!  Most of the time our weddings at this hotel are all outdoors, but they had their dinner/dance indoors using 1/3 of the ballroom which meant they could go until 1am!!! Party animals, lol

Jim Kennedy’s Amber was fun to work with as usual and the florals were done by the inhouse florist Nora for both ceremony and ballroom (they include the ceremony florals by her in your wedding package/ceremony site fee), and Design Visage got all the ladies prettied up and kept them on time as always, and thanks to the team at Laguna Cliffs things went off beautifully as always (I did my first wedding as a wedding planner there 19 years ago and most of the banquet staff are the same!!)    xoxoxo

Plaza Room Ritz-Carlton Laguna Wedding

This was a lovely wedding reception to come back from New Zealand to do.  They got married at the Cathedral in San Juan Capistrano, it was a lovely intimate group and a really lovely elegant wedding celebration for Dina and Mina.  They were also fun, take a look at the cake topper, lol

Our ivory dancefloor/B&G sofa and chiavaris were through my rental partner for most of my weddings TMMPRO.

Destination wedding Ritz Carlton Laguna

When Sydney booked us for her wedding we knew i was going to be out of the country on her day, so i worked with her on the planning and then on the day itself Nicole oversaw and orchestrated everything, perfectly as normal, but i was sad i was not there as i really enjoyed working with Sydney and i knew her wedding was going to be really lovely.

Sydney wanted everyone joined, so we did a double sided u shape with the dancefloor as the centerpiece and it worked beautifully

We had the best vendor team on board so i knew i had nothing to worry about while i was in Fiji relaxing, lol!!  Thanks to Frank for the good pics above, the others were Darla the assistant for Nicole on the day (sending me some so i could Instagram, lol), Kevin/Video-Luxury Lifestyle Studios, Design Visage for hair/makeup, Karens Flowers, Luxe Linens, Naples String trio for cere/cocktails and Peter/DJ-Vive Entertainment for dinner/dancing and mceeing, and as always, my man that helps me transform space TMMPRO for the benches/draping/lighting/dancefloor+decal+chiavaris, and of course, the ladies and gentlemen of the Ritz-Carlton that i know will work with Nicole to ensure all is perfect, so i can go on vacation, lol!!!

Monarch Beach Resort-Club 19 wedding

Ok, not the best photos as I never got any from the photographer and i was doing a wedding up in LA whileNicole was doing this one and she is always busy and forgets to take photos for me, lol, so i think Darla her assistant that day snapped these for me, but they showed different elements i wanted to share.

I liked the pop of color on the gazebo at Botanical Garden, the Bistro lights over the outdoor dining patio of Club 19, and as they ended up with more guests than they planned for two tables had to be placed inside Club 19 which with the newer open doors to the patio helped it not seem like two different areas, and it shows the cool light fixture inside Club 19 over the dancefloor.  Chairs/dancefloor and lighting were done by my partner TMMPRO  xoxox

LA River Center Wedding

From the minute they came to meet with me i loved them.  Brianna knew the style of venue they wanted but had not found it, so hired me to help them, and guess what after researching probably 50 or more locations, i found it and i knew it the minute i saw pics on the web.  We arranged to meet one Saturday morning, i have to be honest getting off the freeway i was like, oh dear who is going to want their guests to drive around here, we were very much on the outskirts of downtown LA, but the minute i walked in i knew it was it and once Brianna and Parker arrived, i could tell by the happiness in her face too.

Everything was outdoors.  We had the guests arrive and mingle in a side courtyard, then invited them to the main courtyard when it was time for the ceremony, then the guests went back to the side courtyard for cocktails lead by mariachis (via Essense Entertainment, my normal guys were already booked) while the ceremony site was flipped by the rental (Signature) and catering (Summit Events) companies.  Then dinner/dancing was done in the main courtyard which went from daytime to night and was quite magical.

The B&G and families and a good amount of guests all stayed in Pasadena, so we had a coach to bring them and then take them back after which worked out well, thanks to Strack Transport that i use, great variety of really nice vehicles.

Thanks to Sarah Mack Photography for the pics above, and to my normal partners that go wherever we may be having a wedding, Design Visage for hair/makeup, EBD Floral and Vive Entertainment/Peter for the mceeing and dinner/dancing music.  xoxoxo
