Ritz-Carlton Laguna Wedding by Nicole

Sometimes i am already booked for a date when i get a call, or to keep costs down couples are happy to have me plan/detail everything out and then have one of my Day of Co-ordinator’s run/oversee the event on the day.  In 19 years of business i have only had 5 ladies i have trusted to be Day of Co-ordinators and run things as i would, and i get great feedback always from the hotels and couples that all was as if i was there!!  In this case, i was already booked so Nicole oversaw this one with the assistance of Brittany.

Thanks to Katie Edwards Photo for the pics above.

Rancho Las Lomas wedding beauty

At the time of this wedding, Kira who worked at Rancho Las Lomas said it was the most beautiful one they had done there, and i feel like it may still be!!!

This was the 2nd wedding for this family i had done, the older sister of the groom about 5 years earlier and the mom had always stayed in touch with me, telling me it would be soon we would be doing Anthony’s wedding.

Linda knew what she wanted from the get go, a garden feel, people sitting under tree branches etc, at one point we were doing the dining/dancing up where we ended up doing the ceremony, we were all over the place with the excitement of what we were going to be creating.  Square Root of course, Alex, were the team I knew could make it happen and they sure did.

Lots of fun elements from beginning to end for the lucky guests that attended, Boyz 2 Men surprised the bride with her favourite song when we were about to get the dancing going and they did a fabulous performance that the guests could not get enough of.  Needless to say our Groom who made that happen was probably in the good books for many many months after the wedding!! lol

Again Linda’s vision was a key for the guests with their table assignment/meal choice on it, and SR built this awesome wall for us to hang them on.  The ceremony area had an entrance arch and beautiful greenery surround and the dining/dancing area was greenery and chandeliers for miles, very very beautiful.  I happen to love chandeliers so i was in a bit of heaven for this one.  We brought in a dancefloor and of course did the decal which as the center of the dining/dancing area just finished things off perfectly.

Mix of long and round tables, no matter what they were sitting at the guests were in awe

As day became night the chandeliers and lighting around the dining area just created magic

We had a beautiful backdrop for the sweetheart table and had left an amount of space behind the sheart table, so while tables were waiting for their entrees, we had them go up table by table and stand behind B&G at their table and that is how we got table shots with the B&G, they didn’t have to go anywhere!!   Our pre cere/ceremony & cocktail music was by Ipoa String Quartet and it was great to work with Hilo Productions for the dinner/dancing portion of the event, because the Boyz 2 Men portion was a surprise, he had to work with me at times, stalling, changing track, in order to keep us on time as we had to end all music downstairs at 10pm and then we sent everyone upstairs to the enclosed party room for the after party, where we had desserts and cut wedding cake (all by Simply Sweet Cakery) waiting for them as well as great dance music by Hilo Productions, a Photobooth and Hobo Co was making pizzas for people to enjoy at the party or take for the road.  Thanks to Micheal Anthony Studios for being a star to work with that day and provided the good photos above (some of which i have used on my website as header pics) and to the team at 24 Carrots for as always being great to work with when we have an event at Rancho Las Lomas. xoxoxox

Surf and Sand Hotel Laguna Wedding

It had been quite a few years since i had done a wedding here and then i was there within two months, how random is that!!!!!!

The ceremony area for the larger weddings is really fabulous, you just stare at the Pacific Ocean beyond, then after a quick turn around, that is also where the guests get to enjoy cocktails.  Another great team on this one: Jim Kennedy Photography/Jim himself, Steve from Honored Occasions kept the dancefloor full, Cinderella Cakes made an incredible cake that was stacked suitcases (they were leaving on a 1 year honeymoon around the world – how lucky were they – so everything was themed around travel), Fantasy Florals did a wonderful job with the florals, Naples Strings provided the ceremony & cocktail music, and TMMPRO provided rentals along with Luxe Linens.  thanks to the ladies and banquet staff at Surf and Sand also  xoxoxo

Island Hotel – Newport Beach

I was at the Island Hotel when this bride and groom and her parents were walking around looking at it as a potential for her wedding reception, and they liked what they saw me doing for that wedding and I got booked for Maria’s. Their ceremony was at a church that does not have church ladies and I have done a few there now, so I was over there getting everyone up the aisle too.

From our awesome placecard table floral to the church and the ballroom, EBD Floral did a beautiful job again as always.

Linens and napkins came from Luxe.  We even had caricature artists after dinner which were very popular.

Chivaris/dancefloor/lighting/draping by my pals at TMMPRO

Thanks to Jacqueline Kay for some of the photos above and some are mine, the bad ones, lol.  And as always, to the Island Hotel team, thank you for being awesome.

Beautiful wedding for a sweet bride

What a joy Ina was to work with, Frank Salas (thanks for the photos), Flowers By Cina and I kept saying how lucky we were to each other.

I always use TMMPRO for the dancefloor/chairs/lighting but this time we even had Jack himself as the dj, love it.

Another Sunset Terrace and Plaza beautiful intimate celebration, xoxoxox

2011 – another year of lovely couples/weddings

Okay lovely brides, I have heard you.  If I am not blogging you think I am not working  (totally untrue), you like to see what my brides have done in the same space you are going to celebrate at (you will see some, but not all, sometimes  too many options is not good for you), and you like to see/know what I have been up to.  So, based on that I am going to post a bunch of blogs on the popular venues, unusual venues and anything else that I think you may find of interest from the year 2011, and for 2012 my promise to you and myself is anytime I think you will like what we have just  helped to create or info to help you along your path, I will be posting as the year goes along.

I am feeling quite excited to get things going, so thanks to those of you that told me it was time to get back to blogging!!!!!!  Now, I wait on my lovely photographer friends to get me the pics that you are dying to see (hint hint photographer friends!! LOL)

So to start things off, as I have these photos (thanks to Happy Photos/Santa Ana)….  I got a call early in the year from a bride who had been referred by a past bride (love those, and now I have a bridesmaid from this wedding who has booked me for her wedding at the Biltmore in LA in 2012, yay) and needed my help.  She was getting married in a church but really needed someone at her reception location to ensure all was well with setup,  vendors, and give her peace of mind.  I was thrilled as her location was the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.  I had been to an event when the center opened and thought it was fabulous and never really thought of it as a wedding event location.  Well, you will see by the pictures below it makes for great pics.

I had the pleasure of working with Patina Catering group  (who I have worked with at other locations and of course like the restaurants around the OC), and her cake was by a chef who had competed on one of the cake shows on tv, so a lot of elements involved that made it nice and fun.

Thanks Donald and Annika, it was a beautiful celebration and what lovely family and friends you have.

Till next time
