Hyatt HB Vista Ballroom wedding

What a wonderful relationship Lucrezia and her mom have, well that is probably because Lucrezia is so lovely, and she married lovely Hugo, so it was all just calm and lovely.  How lucky am I to have such lovely client’s.  The Vista Ballroom is the one we have done the most weddings in from the day the hotel opened, and what i love is that not two weddings have been the same, thanks to my couple’s varied styles/budgets/visions and the vendor teams we bring on board.  Don’t you love the backdrop to their sweet heart table?  Her mom was the one that came up with that ultimately and we all loved it.

Lighthouse Lawn ceremony, which normally does not go with Vista Ballroom but it worked out for them and we set it sunset facing.

Of course we had my fave round dancefloor and their custom decal was fabulous, all by TMMPRO along with the draping/3 walls, lighting/chargers/chiavaris. Plug Video was in the house, and Brent Edwards officiated/great job as always.  Napkins by Luxe Linens, Florals by Elegant by Design/Karla and team, and thanks for the photos Mr Frank Salas, always a pleasure working with him, so calm and easy and get things done & gets the shot!!  And to our friends at Hyatt HB, thanks for helping us bring wedding dreams to fruition.

Till next time

Hyatt HB Huntington Ballroom

Really enjoyed Betty and Adam.  They booked us to handle the reception portion at the hotel only, they did not need us earlier in the day or at the church.  They were our first wedding to do the sparkler cans in the ballroom at Hyatt HB and boy we went through the ringer for that.  My fave moment of the night was when they were on their stage after the grand entrance and the sparklers went off and all the guests were dancing/clapping infront of the B&G and Adam looked at me and gave the thumbs up!

Their grand entrance was lead in by some traditional drummers and all the guests created a tunnel from the door to the dancefloor for them (this is something they all knew to do and do at every wedding) and their culture line dances, it was amazing to watch the majority of the 300 guests line dancing, very calming and peaceful!! of course they had a band and dj and inbetween that was the normal parttttyyyyyyy going on, lol.  Floral was by The Finishing Touch/Brandi & Doug, nice job as always, cake by Sweet Traders-don’t you love the cake topper (we saw quite a few custom ones in 2019) and the dancefloor/decal, stage cover, special lighting/sparklers, chargers/chiavaris were by my team of guys from TMMPRO.  Of course a big shoutout to our pals at Hyatt HB, been doing weddings there since the day the hotel opened, 17 years i believe, wowser!! xoxo

Ritz Carlton Laguna Destination Wedding

Had a great experience planning with Sterling and Jonathan from afar (as are 80% of my couples).  They were very busy so very efficient when it came to making decisions and getting tasks done, yayyy, love that.  We had the ceremony on the Monarch Bay Sunset Lawn, cocktails on the Plaza Balcony and then dinner/dance inside the Plaza Room.

Thanks to Cat/Adi of Next Exit Photography you have got photos here of the Plaza Room from every angle and a few for the ceremony site, tx guys for being friendors for so many years and being great to work with on the day xoxo  We pulled together a great vendor team, Rabbi Ian co-officiated with the Pastor from Sterling’s church who flew over for the wedding, Design Visage did hair/makeup, cere/cocktail music by Naples Strings, dinner/dance/mceeing by Jeff/Moondance Mobile Music, and to EBD Floral, wow, i was taken aback by the beauty of the florals and colors.  Jonathan is from South Africa and Sterling wanted to incorporate the South African national/native flower and Karla did it beautifully, love love.  And to TMMPRO who helps me transform the Plaza Room with draping/dancefloor+decal and lighting, and we had them provide chiavaris for the cere (Sterling was not into using hotel chairs at all) and had Chiavari Chair Rentals provide the infinity chairs for the Plaza Room.  Everything was bellisimo!!

And of course to our friends/team members at the Ritz Laguna, always a pleasure making dreams celebrations come to reality for our couples, xoxox

Serra Plaza San Juan Capistrano wedding

I was asked by a special person to me if I would help her friend’s out with their wedding at Serra Plaza, a lovely courtyard venue in the middle of an office complex, but on the day you would not even realise.  I had been there for a few events but not done a wedding there, but that is never a problem.  My pics are above, darker but you can see the chandeliers etc, thanks to Nola Fontanez for the pics below/obviously the professional ones and for being so lovely/responsive to work with leading up to the wedding and on the night/day – we were not at the pre cere pics being done at the Mission nearby so I had to rely on her to keep things moving/on time and she sure did!!  Design Visage kept everyone on time back at the hotel they were getting ready at, that is why I use them, all it takes is for hair/makeup and photography to be a tad late and everything runs late or you have to give up photography time, you get to pick!!

The rest of the vendors were friends/guests, from Uncle Dave that officiated, to the florist, music, and it was easy to work with the venue and we got to work with the excellent food/beverage teams of 24 Carrots, and yes I may have gone for 2nds on the au gratin potatoe, lol!!  We used the company I refer for transport, Strack, great vehicles and have never let me down/keep communicating with me on the day so i know where/what is going on and can prepare/get ready for, if we don’t have one of our assistant’s there.

BTW the chandeliers were added, we went for a walk through/final details with everyone on a day they were setup for a wedding, and once you see them you can’t imagine a wedding without them!! The caterer took care of all rentals for us, including the dancefloor which we added in the final week, and between the venue and caterer the turn from ceremony to dining/dancefloor was really quick/good.  Go team

Monarch Beach Resort intimate wedding

We love intimate weddings and especially when they are weekday, June’s was on a Tuesday.  Remember you get to use space at hotels that would be more $$ than you want/can spend on a fri/sat/sunday and you are normally here in S CA the only wedding happening so get that feeling of exclusivity, and you have everyone’s attention for sure!

June and Matthew had a total of 16 guests, the most important people to them (which is really how it should be right??) and we did the ceremony at the Botanical Garden, photos then we escorted everyone up to the Private Dining Room in the restaurant, where they had a lovely dinner.

We pulled together the perfect vendor team, KLK Photography/Paul-it was great working with them again it had been quite some time, EBD Floral-thanks for always making things work for my couples, Jeff Holmes/officiant-does a fabulous job, and Angelica Strings for the beautiful pre and post music, and of course to our friends at MBR for helping us make these wedding celebrations even more special xoxoxo

Ritz Laguna Terrace Salon wedding

It’s funny how each year there are the ‘hot’ spaces for weddings, well for 2019 at Ritz Laguna it was combining the Monarch bay Sunset Lawn with cocktails next door on the Monarch Bay Sunset Terrace, all oceanfront/view, then up to the Terrace Salon where the ballroom is unique in shape and wall coverings and has a very cool large balcony with wicker furniture and fire pits that guests love, in face most weddings end and there is a group sitting out there not ready to leave!!

So this wedding was the same space, our bride was very excited about everything and her fabulous groom was always happy to see her happy.  From the beginning Katy had said her wedding was going to be pink, and our groom was aok with that, so pink it was.

The picture above was Katy seeing the doves they would release at the end of the ceremony on its way to her ceremony and she was chatting with it, thanking it.  There was also a 60 dove release after they each released their doves.  Guests loved it.

Great vendor team on board, Luxe Linens for the perfect pink linens/napkins, Flowers by Cina for the beautiful florals, Jim Kennedy & Amber-photo (none of these photos are from them, all are mine), Luxury Lifestyle Studio/video, Wendy/Orange County Harpist for the ceremony/cocktail music, Peter/Vive Entertainment for the dinner/dancing music & excellent mceeing as always, Design Visage for hair/makeup, TMMPRO for the dancefloor+decal & lighting-just the right pink, and of course to the ladies and gentlemen at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna for always helping us make wedding dreams come true xoxo

Laguna Cliffs Marriott wedding

Lovely Jessica, such a happy bride from the beginning.  She wanted happy flowers and a happy vibe to the whole event.  She found the band with the exact style she wanted and it turned out they had played at a wedding I had done years ago, Jukebox Productions, they also provided the ceremony music, Joe Latter photo/thanks for the pics, Luxury Lifestyle Studio/video, Design Visage for hair/makeup, Karen’s Flowers & Nora from the hotel each did part of the wedding (they include the ceremony florals in the hotel package) and after dinner guests were surprised with Pixster Photobooth in the foyer, we had a few weddings with them in 2019 I feel.

Thanks to the lovely peeps at Laguna Cliffs, always good to be there.  That is where i did my very first wedding as an independent planner, after I left Disney, so it holds a special place in my heart, then someone at the Ritz heard I had done one and reached out, and the rest is history they say, for the past 19 years, xoxoxo

Hyatt HB intimate Vista Ballroom wedding

Had the honor of helping Dean and Michael with their wedding celebration .  They were just a pleasure (as all my guys have been) to work with.  It was an intimate group of 37, they were originally in Sandpiper but Vista Ballroom was available and the hotel offered it to them, they were a bit hesitant but I knew we could make it look good and no one ever complains about too much space, right!!

We put the dancefloor+decal at a diamond shape with sheart table at one point/cake at the opposite point and that gave us 4 sides for each of the guest tables to be beside, so everyone was around the dancefloor , TMMPRO provided the dancefloor/decal/lighting & chargers. Duane Peck was the photographer, I think the bottom pic is his the rest are off my iPhone i believe, Luxe Linens provided linens/napkins, and Sweet Traders did the awesome cake you see there.  Touch of Lavender florist and DJ Diamond they found on their own and they did a great job for our couple on the day.

80% of my couples do not live in CA, so working by email/phone to pull everything together is no problem for me, and that was a good thing with this couple as, one groom is in the military and was in Iraq for most of the planning months and we emailed back and forth and had a couple of conversations while he was there, and the other groom is  English and works for an airline and was in England/Europe most of the time.  Again, not a problem for me and it all turned out aok!

Of course we always owe a big hug to the team at Hyatt HB, teamwork makes the dream work.

Till next time

Balboa Bay Resort Wedding

Always nice to be back at BBR.  Grant and Nancy booked a small service where they would have all vendors on board/everything done when it officially began.  After meeting them and getting our detail meeting underway when their service officially began, I noticed that was i was seeing/feeling for the style/look of the wedding did not seem to match Nancy and her personality.  In chatting more it became apparent she had had not idea what she wanted and was busy and just kind of went along with things, so between The Finishing Touch/Brandi and I we redesigned the whole look/feel of everything and it turned out beautifully and they were really happy.  The difference with booking a small service with us is that we still care and are not order takers/just get it done because you are paying less and even though what they were going to do may have been fine but then again, would she have ever loved her photos/good memories of how things looked, we will never know, i just know that with the vendors i work with constantly my couples get a better look/feel than if they went rental/vendor shopping on their own.

They were not doing a white dancefloor but we switched out some rentals they were getting/paying more for and by me organizing the rentals they spent $200 more and got a beautiful dancefloor+decal along with the other rentals they were already doing.  It really was a statement piece and elevated the celebration with elegance to go along with the white/gold we used in the rest of the décor/elements.

In the Bayview Room (where we did one of the first weddings after they turned it from a restaurant to banquet space a few years ago) there are 3 openings that go to the bar, we used the center one as the backdrop/sweetheart area giving the 2 side ones for access in/out, much better.  I love this pic of the groom just before we had the bride/ladies come down to the cere site, this is where they would enter the ceremony through

thanks to Eric/West Imagery for being so nice and easy to work with before and on the wedding day and for the pics above, my iPhone ones are below and a bit brighter/colors more vibrant, as the day was definitely not gloomy, but that again just shows that every photographer has their own style/look and as couples you pick the person whose work you like/want, but it can change in your memory how things were.

Thanks to Grace & Honey cakes for the beautiful cake, TMMPRO for the dancefloor/decl, chairs & chargers, The Finishing touch/Brandi&Doug for the floral/décor, Design Visage for hair&makeup, Ben Mallare Band and of course the lovelies at Balboa Bay Resort we get to work with, we love it there.

And as so many of our couples do, we did the In N out Run towards the end of the night which was a hit as usual.

Till next time

Rancho las Lomas wedding

We loved loved loved this couple, the sweetest!! It started in the beginning with Katerina and what she wanted and by the end of the planning it was all about Ricardo the groom, something that gave me and our bride lots of laughs as the day got closer and on the day.  Our mantra on the day was, ‘Lisa you have given Ricardo the wedding of his dreams’, even all the vendors started saying it.  Which speaking of, we pulled a great vendor team together for them, Jim Kennedy Photographer/thanks for the photos, Luxury Lifestyle Studio/video, Design Visage hair/makeup for the ladies at the hotel they were getting ready at, Peter/Vive Entertainment for all the music, Karen’s Flowers (no insta or website) for the florals and 24 Carrots & RLL for being fabulous to work with and at always.  Looking forward to the next one with you all.
