Laguna Cliffs Marriott wedding

Lovely Jessica, such a happy bride from the beginning.  She wanted happy flowers and a happy vibe to the whole event.  She found the band with the exact style she wanted and it turned out they had played at a wedding I had done years ago, Jukebox Productions, they also provided the ceremony music, Joe Latter photo/thanks for the pics, Luxury Lifestyle Studio/video, Design Visage for hair/makeup, Karen’s Flowers & Nora from the hotel each did part of the wedding (they include the ceremony florals in the hotel package) and after dinner guests were surprised with Pixster Photobooth in the foyer, we had a few weddings with them in 2019 I feel.

Thanks to the lovely peeps at Laguna Cliffs, always good to be there.  That is where i did my very first wedding as an independent planner, after I left Disney, so it holds a special place in my heart, then someone at the Ritz heard I had done one and reached out, and the rest is history they say, for the past 19 years, xoxoxo

Laguna Cliffs Marriott Wedding

Migzy and Andrew were just the loveliest.  They were my 2nd couple in a few months to do the sayings on the boards down the aisle!!  Most of the time our weddings at this hotel are all outdoors, but they had their dinner/dance indoors using 1/3 of the ballroom which meant they could go until 1am!!! Party animals, lol

Jim Kennedy’s Amber was fun to work with as usual and the florals were done by the inhouse florist Nora for both ceremony and ballroom (they include the ceremony florals by her in your wedding package/ceremony site fee), and Design Visage got all the ladies prettied up and kept them on time as always, and thanks to the team at Laguna Cliffs things went off beautifully as always (I did my first wedding as a wedding planner there 19 years ago and most of the banquet staff are the same!!)    xoxoxo

Laguna Cliffs Marriott Wedding

A really pretty all outdoor wedding for a lovely couple.  Photos by Joel Austell. Design Visage prettied everyone up. The hotels florist Nora did a wonderful job.  Harp by OC Harpist/Wendy, and our dj was Bill Child, it was one of his last weddings, we miss him!

Laguna Cliffs Indian wedding

We have done Indian wedding celebrations all over S Ca, but this was our first at Laguna Cliffs.  You will notice that our lovely bride strayed from the traditional colors used for the wedding (my brides tend to stray).

They actually booked Teri for the day as I was already booked, but I managed to make it for the Indian am ceremony before I headed off to my wedding, and Teri and the team carried on with the luncheon, the pm ceremony/cocktails/dinner/dance.

Thanks to Lin & Jirsa for the pics, they turned out wayyyyyy better than any of the ones we took on our phones, lol!!

Thanks to the team at Laguna Cliffs, as always we love working with you

Laguna Cliffs Marriott wedding

This was Lisa’s backdrop to her destination wedding here in S CA.  For the 60 guests who came from all over the country, it was a perfect late afternoon wedding followed by cocktails and dinner and dancing under the stars, now where else in the USA could  you do that in October!!

Her photographer was a friend who travelled to come and take pictures and the pics above are a mix of mine and his, Nora the hotel florist did the flowers, Al of Alvarron Ent handled all the music and did a great job keeping the dancefloor full which kept them nice and warm when it cooled down a tad, and to Sandy and the team at the hotel, you are such a pleasure to work with xoxoxo

Laguna Cliffs Marriott, Dana Point

Mom, Sara and I had started her wedding planning with another hotel booked.  Then the groom came across this hotel and had us switch the wedding location.  I didn’t mind at all as I had not done a wedding here for quite a while, and when you compared it to their original pick and what would suit them best, then the switch made sense.  Something can be said in hiring a co-ordinator to help you location scout and save the monies that get lost in this kind of situation (original deposit normally), however most of the time if couples have their location booked before booking a co-ordinator it works out fine, that is the property/location you fell in love with and know is right for you, so this was a rare occurance.

Anyway, I digress.  It was great to be back, they have made some changes that are for the best for sure.  The banquet manager I had I had worked with before and she is excellent, everyone there was very helpful and guest oriented.  We did the ceremony up at Del Mar Lawn and then did the cocktails/dinner/dancing on the main lawn, all outside, and boy we could not have picked a more weather perfect night if we had of tried (we had hoped, but you can’t try!!).  Sad to see Sara and her mom move on from my life, but look forward to seeing them at someone elses wedding in the future.

Thanks as always to Tony Florez for getting me these pics, always lovely to work with.

Till next time

Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa

I was invited by Sandy and the team to come on over and see how things looked after the multi million dollar renovation was complete.

Wow, what a shock.  This hotel has done a 360 from the nautical old/tired yet comfy feel, to a very hip/cool atmosphere both inside and out.  I seem to always have some guests stay here when I have weddings at hotels close by and they definately won’t be disappointed or feel like they are at a lesser hotel now, and after many years where they had a great wedding program, then due to losing people with the passion and going through the changes and the property not keeping up with all those around, it seems that the new team and look of the property together is reviving life up at the Marriott on the hill.  I am even more pleased that I saw it when I did, because one of  my couples for 2012 were booked elsewhere, the groom saw this property and cancelled the other hotel and now I have a wedding I will be doing here, been way too long.

And add to this, the spa facility which I think is just fabulous for ‘girls pre wedding get togethers’ utilising the outside courtyard with fireplace and lounging room, which is available to any one to book and use, even if you aren’t having your wedding here,  call and speak to the Spa manager about booking that area for your group.  They will bring the food/beverages in, and not to forget mentioning, the massages and treatments are really really good too!!!

Till next time
