Destination wedding/St Regis Monarch Beach

I really enjoyed helping lovely Wendy pull her vendor team/vision together and taking them through the process of planning a wedding, especially from another area, which I am doing 70% of the time.  Sometimes I don’t even meet my couples until the wedding day, some have one trip in/out, some have more, but thanks to phones/internet/technology these days it really is easy, in fact sometimes I see my destination weddings more in the planning months than I do some of my local couples because they are just so busy!!

Great vendor team on this one, James Johnson/photographer – thanks for the pics attached, Shane Productions/video, Paul Uhlar/officiant, Karla/Elegant by Design as always bringing the dream to reality, Naples strings for cere/cocktail music, and Bill Child/Dj Mister Bill as always a joy to work with and on this fun one, kept extending as the guests were not ready to be done, it was hilarious.  Monico Décor for the rentals, and of course to the team at St Regis Monarch Beach for being five star/diamond fabulous and for having such great locations for couples/guests to enjoy and have memorable celebrations at, such as the Botanical Garden and Wine Cellar.

Intimate weddings

0170

We get to assist couples with weddings all sizes, my largest was 1200 guests and smallest just the bride and groom.  Here is a lovely sweet wedding where it was the grooms son/daughter and grandkids, total 7 people, so lovely.  After the ceremony we had photos at the gazebo then the kids had a break while Grandpa and Barbara had photos done around the hotel, then everyone met at Stonehill for dinner.  Just a regular table where Elegant by Design moved the florals from the Gazebo to, and the hotel made a wedding cake for them to enjoy looking at then eat for dessert after dinner.  I helped Barbara pull the vendor team/vision/style of the event together, they lived out of state and everyone flew inand stayed at the hotel, she was just a pleasure to help and deserved a lovely celebration and memories  Thanks to Larry Crandall for being such a great guy who goes along with what is happening, and got me these pics to post. To Naples Strings/trio for playing lovely music for the ceremony and during the photos after.  To Paul Uhlar for always doing a lovely ceremony with just enough humour in it to be right, and to Noemi of Posh Beauty for enhancing Barbara’s beauty on her day.

St. Regis Private Dining Room wedding

I have done a few weddings in this room which is located at one end of Motif Restaurant, and can be closed off. With each wedding we come up with more ways to make a celebration better, and I was really pleased with how this one ended up.

Ed and Jenn had an intimate group of family that would be coming with them and we had a great time pulling the vision/feel of the celebration together. The one thing they umed and haahed over was whether or not to do the full room draping. Well I think as you can see below it was a great decision to go with it. It totally transformed the room, and to be honest these pics don’t do it justice with just how beautiful it really looked and felt in there. So romantic and warm feeling, the candlelight really played off all the draping. Even the hotel staff that had been there for years when this picture was emailed to them could not work out where this room was, so bottom line, everyone including the B&G loved the end result.

We had a lovely ceremony at the Botanical Garden with a solo guitarist playing, followed by cocktails on the Motif balcony where the Pacific ocean could be seen in the distance, and then into the Motif Private Dining Room the guests went, oohing and aahing as they entered (and we used the inhouse music system for background music). Aaaah, that is why we do what we do, love it.

Thanks to Bob Ortiz for the photos and always being a great team player when it comes to the intimate celebrations (as well as big ones), Karla at Elegant By design for helping us pull the vision together and make it happen, Design Visage for always making my brides look fabulous from beginning to end, Father Brian for the great ceremony that included the Catholic/religious touches that were important to them, Fusion for the linens/draping/chivaris, and last but by no means least, our wonderful family/team at the St Regis.

Motif Private Dining Room/St Regis

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of seeing through a lovely intimate celebration at the St Regis.  Couple of things others may see as challenges with this one, but not me, never a worry.  The groom called me 10 days before the big day to say he had booked a wedding at the St Regis and had invited the 16 guests and had taken care of their flights and accommodation, but that was all he had done,  no vendors in line/plan/vision and we had the threat of rain looming over the day for most of those 10 days.

I got right on it, within 48 hours we had meet with and booked a photographer, florist and linens/chargers.  Then we detailed the timeline for the wedding day, I booked a harpist, ordered white carpet for the runner, we hired a videographer, and had them meet with a papergoods lady for menu cards/placecards/programs and a chocolatierre for favors, and by the Monday the week of the wedding we were in great shape.  We had a meeting with the hotel on the Tuesday to ensure the food & beverage was taken care of, and then we waited for Saturday to come and the rain to go away.

The ceremony was timed for 2:30pm which was fabulous, at 9am it was raining, by noon it was grey sky but rain was gone, but 2:30pm we actually had a bit of  blue sky and some warmth.  See, good things always happen to good people.  The couple got to take photos around the grounds and the guests got to relax a bit, then they all met up for the dinner in the Motif Private Dining room..  It all came together beautifully and the couple and I were very happy.  Thanks to www.Joelaustell.com for the photos below and for being so easy to work with.  They did not keep him on for the dining portion, so the table pictures below look good but not as fabulous as it really looked later when all the glassware and silverware were in place, the table glimmered, it was lovely.  The florals were by Nisie of course, Nisie’s Enchanted Florist, always a beautiful environment created with her and the team.  And of course thanks to the team at Motif and the St Regis who did what they do fabulously.

My bride made my day, she did not speak much english at all, but when they left that night she stopped me and said ‘Lisa it looked nice, thank you’.  I know the effort that took for her and it was appreciated and I agree.

Till next time
