Hyatt HB Huntington Ballroom wedding

Our bride had dreamed of her wedding for a long time, so anything that could be added to make it perfect, she did.  She added a chandelier to the ceiling in Huntington Ballroom, her ceremony floral circle got moved to behind the cake, we draped and at the ceremony she had lovely words of love on boards going down the aisle, doves/White Flite were released at the end of the ceremony, a string trio played ceremony music, mariachis played at cocktails, and a band and dj were in the ballroom, Katella Bakery did an awesome job with her cake vision.  The ceremony was at CA Courtyard, cocktails were Huntington Ballroom balcony & foyer, and then into the ballroom.  Face it Sugar did hair&makeup.  Kudos to The Finishing Touch/Brandi & Doug, a lot of work but it all came together and looked beautiful.  And of course to our friends at the Hyatt HB, kudos xox

Hyatt HB – Huntington Ballroom wedding

Jackie and Jimmy got married in a church and we were only needed to handle the reception at the hotel, so I pulled everything together with them and on the day Darla oversaw/orchestrated everything as the B&G wished for.  They had a ukulele player during cocktails which was fun and different, then dj in the ballroom.

Thanks to Lin & Jirsa for the pics, TMMPRO for the dancefloor, BEL for the draping & chandelier, and of course to our friends at Hyatt HB, teamwork makes the dream work xoxo

Another Hyatt HB wedding

Karen and William were just a pleasure.  Soft/gentle/kind, and their celebration gives a glimmer of that to those in attendance and then in photos after.  We did a mix of long and round tables, using hotel linens but rental napkins and cake table linen.  They were in the Huntington Ballroom and had a linear headtable which they wanted their backs to the windows as they had a band/Lucky Devils, and they needed to be along the service wall, but they didn’t want the windows as their backdrop, so TMMPRO draped the windows the length of the headtable and also provided the dancefloor and their custom decal as well as the acrylic chiavaris and lighting, thanks as always.

Design Visage prettied the ladies up, EBD floral did their magic in both areas, Naples Strings were our pre/cere/cocktail music, and McCunes were the photographers and i think for once it is all the photographers pics here, none of mine, so either i was really busy to get the shots i needed/wanted, lol, or Gloria and Cory were perfecto!!  And of course to our family at Hyatt HB where we have worked since the day the hotel opened, about 17 years now, we love you and thank you for helping us make dreams come true

My last wedding of 2015-Hyatt HB

0025noemail

I even spent all year looking forward to this wedding happening, because a month after Jacqueline booked me she found out her husband was being moved by the military to another state, so I told her no problem 70% of my brides don’t live in state we can get your wedding planned easily from afar, then while I was driving somewhere I had a thought, so I called her and said, Jacqueline if you are in, lets get everything done in the next month and then you can leave and the wedding will be planned and you won’t have to worry about anything, so we met with/booked all vendors, detailed the wedding day/event out, did the floral sample/rental meeting, the hotel tasting/detail, then off she moved!!!  Fabulous

We pulled together an awesome vendor team and had such a great time with everyone on the day, Jacqueline was just the best and her bridesmaids were wonderful/such great friends, the parents were great too.  Jacqueline decided to have me start earlier in the day to keep everyone on track and get them off to the church, as when she booked me if was to handle the planning with her and then be at the hotel on the day to oversee/orchestrate the reception/dinner/dance, so she extended that (which was a very popular option last year) and it really meant that by the time everyone arrived for the reception we were old friends.  Thanks to Joe Latter/photo for the photos and being great to work with as always, karla/Elegant by Design-florals, Monico Décor for the draping (we did the whole wall behind the sweetheart table)/my fave the round white dancefloor/furniture/chairs/linens etc.  The lighting/gobo was done by the inhouse PSAV department, Tomgirl Bakery did the cake and as always it was yum, Peter/Vive Ent for the great music and B&G left before it was over but that dancefloor was full until the guests were done/I thought it would wind down after B&G left but ohhhhh noooooooo!!  And to Design Visage for beautifying these beauties and the moms, not that any of them really needed it, they were all beautiful in and out.  And to the team at Hyatt HB, as always we see you as family and love being with you and everything is always fabulous, this was a great way to end the year of 2015 with.

In these pics you will see some when the lights are up before guests came in and some after, and even though some people question it, I have always placed the cake center in the room (why should something you spend so much time on be stuck in a corner for no one to see or care about) and even if no other lighting is done we always pinspot the cake, you can see why in these pics, it stands out and looks great.

Till tomorrow

Hyatt Huntington Beach fun

What a great planning time we had and it all resulted in a fabulous celebration for this so fun couple and their guests.  I have never laughed so much at every meeting than I did with mom and bride when we were interviewing vendors, and the tasting was just hilarious, I am sure Mark from the Hyatt wondered what the heck was going on, they were just fun fun people.  My lovely bride got busy so the groom stepped in and became my partner in the details/planning and boy what a great job he did, and he never became a bride or groom zilla much to the disappointment of the groomsmen who wanted to know and I think really hoped I would say he did!!!

I could see where we would end up with colors/feel, and it did not disappoint, the dark burgundy linens with a blackish hue to them along with the black chivaris and then the black vases for the florals just looked fabulous.

From the beginning the groom had wishlisted a casino, and as time went along it got put further back on the list due to spending in other areas that became important as we were going through the process.  But two weeks ago I gave him an offer too good to be true, I approached a vendor who had just bought some brand new tables and was going to start rolling out that he had them, and I asked if to get the ball rolling he would give me a great price for this groom that I just enjoyed so much, and he did (another reason why using a seasoned/known co-ordinator who has relationships with locations and vendors can be so beneficial to you), and the groom was so happy, and so was the lady last night that won the IPAD that was the prize for the raffle tickets that were either switched for raffle tickets, or if you played the more you won the more raffle tickets you got.  Between that and the photo/prop area they had and the only band I refer/endorse, this party went on until midnight on a Sunday night with probably 80 guests still there at the end, not bad.

Thanks to Frank Salas for the great photos. below:
