St Regis Monarch Beach wedding

Vanna and I worked together for a long time on her wedding.  She was so excited/happy to have such a wonderful location for her celebration and was just a joy to work with.  I have pics showing how reusing elements can really add to end result.  You will see the ceremony florals at the ceremony site, then see them from a distance to up close at the dining area.  Most of the time they would have been reused as tall centerpieces and been put on different stands/vases, but Vanna wanted all low centerpieces so the view/backdrop would be a part of the whole look, so we put the ceremony pieces on each side of the outside fireplace.  I saw guests using it as a photo backdrop and of course any pics of the dining space would have them in.  Thanks as always to Karla/Elegant by Design by being the right fit for Vanna and bringing her vision to reality and to Monico Décor for the rentals.  And as always to the fab Kelly at St Regis and the rest of the team there.

Till next time

St Regis vibrant

I already posted this wedding but got these photos and wanted to share them also.

Great shot of the dove release, and the Grand Lawn with these vibrant colors.

Thanks to Cloak Photography for the pics.

St Regis wedding

This was a fun wedding towards the end of last season. We started off with the normal more calm wedding colors, then mom of the groom attended our first meeting with the florist and felt we needed a pop, and my cool/hip couple were all for it, and we ended up with this fabulously bright wedding, with an edge to the look/feel and some cool elements, like the macaroon ‘store’ that the groom suprised the bride with, at cocktails, and the 100 dove release at the end of the ceremony that was a suprise to the guests.

Fabulous job by Bloombox with the ombre look, linens by La Tavola (I had used the sequin one a couple of months earlier and knew it would be perfect for the direction we were heading in), Cloak Photo for rolling with the flow (and thanks for the pics used in this post), Wendy my fave harpist for the cere/cocktails, White Flite for as always pulling off an awesome dove release, A Wish and a Wisk for the fabulous cake that matched the colors/feel we went for, and last but not least, my team/family at the St Regis – can’t do it without you.

Beautiful Wedding Celebration @ St Regis Monarch Beach

I had been looking forward to this wedding for a while.

The bride’s mom and her sister/aunt had come to meet with me last year as the bride lived in Charleston and was a busy Doctor, so they needed my help to keep them on track with what needed to be done to pull together a great celebration for the bride and her groom.  The St Regis was the location and they needed help with all vendor selections.  The bride and I had a phone chat so I could ensure I understood her priorities and style/vision and off we went.  Below is the end result.  Every one who came in contact with Sharon just loved her, she was such a lovely person and we all wanted this to be a celebration she could enjoy and then relive and cherish through the photos afterwards.

What you see below is Sharon’s twist to the sofreh, she did not want the normal setup on a low riser, so we brainstormed and came up with the crushed glass creating a base/frame, boy it looked awesome/effective.  The hanging balls were all Sharon also, she had a vision and they turned out great.

Then we had the ballroom.  I was soooo happy how it turned out.  Sharon trusted my thoughts as to how to pull the items she knew she wanted together, and then let me lead her to add elements that finished the whole look.

Dessert stations seem to be the big thing now, either with a cake or in lieu of a wedding cake.  In order to get a really good looking display you really need the hotel to create & display it, or pay a vendor to do it.

Thanks to Frank Salas for the images, Fusion for purchasing the chivaris especially for me so Sharon could have them for her wedding and be the first to use them (they are the crystal/acrylic ones if you notice), Dimas for exceeding Sharon’s imagination, my favourite Iranian/Persian wedding officiant, my new Persian dj friend that I get to work with again soon and hopefully more after that (a very classy act they were and so nice to work with) and finally to Sharon (the bride) for letting me talk her into adding elements or tweaking her thoughts, that she may not have planned on from the beginning, so that we ended up with a really memorable vision and moments that were memorable for all that attended.

Till next time
