Beautiful wedding for a sweet bride
What a joy Ina was to work with, Frank Salas (thanks for the photos), Flowers By Cina and I kept saying how lucky we were to each other.
I always use TMMPRO for the dancefloor/chairs/lighting but this time we even had Jack himself as the dj, love it.
Another Sunset Terrace and Plaza beautiful intimate celebration, xoxoxox

Beautiful couple and beautiful Ritz wedding
Working with Erika and David over the past year was just a joy. Very busy couple with kids going here and there and travelling and busy with work, so sometimes wedding planning halted and then we would get going again. That is the beauty of how I work, I could pull your wedding together in a week, but for most brides that would freak them out, so anytime longer than that means you can halt anytime you want/need to and there is no panic/pressure from me!!!
Erika had inspiration pics that she pretty much stuck to through the process and they were very much a reflection of her, soft, lovely and in love with love
All the tables had these lovely floorlength linen overlays and we did not use the Ritz baseplates (2 to choose from) this year my brides are loving these new chargers I get through one of my vendors.
The furniture setting on the balcony was actually copied from a wedding they had gone to, but we added florals to the wrought iron and Erika provided the rug which means when she sees it at home it will remind her of her wedding, love that
In 16 years of doing weddings in the Plaza Room no one ever brought up the idea of draping the whole room, but over the years I had brides who wanted to cover paintings in there so we had been creative with draping particular areas, placing trees and placing something on the mantle to cover the fireplace picture, but draping the whole room, hmmmmm. So when Erika said lets do it, I was excited to see the outcome, and it was
l
beautiful, and now all my brides are doing it. It totally transforms the room and makes it soft and romantic and elegant, intimate and I think it makes the room feel a bit bigger.
We had an awesome candy table setup in the foyer during dinner and guests made to go bags or grabbed some to eat later in the evening when they felt the need.
I love it when a bride lets me guide them to the perfect team for them for their vision/style and budget, and when I say budget, anytime you look at the pics from my couples weddings, whatever you think they may have spent, in reality they probably spent less because I know the right people out there. Our awesome vendor team on this wedding was: Frank Salas for the pics above and some were mine, Design Visage for the beautifying of all the ladies, Elegant by Design/florals, Chiavari chair rentals, TMMPRO, The Sugar Philosophers, Peter/Vive Ent, Naples Strings, White Flite Dove Release, and my fave Rabbi, Rabbi Ian!! And of course the wonderful ladies and gentlemen at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel xooxoxo

Indian Wedding, Temple ceremony & Hotel Reception
So we had Jas and Lucky’s wedding in two locations over two days. Teri was actually going to do both days as I was in Australia, but as fate steps in my return flight got changed on me bringing me home a day early, so I was able to jump in and be there on the Temple Ceremony day. Jas came in on a horse for the baraat and they exited the day in a helicopter, inbetween lunch was served in the tent that was put up.

The next day their wedding reception was at the Bayfront Hilton in San Diego, we have done a few Indian weddings here now, as they have a great infrastructure, plenty of banquet space and different areas so for multi day and events the guests get to experience different views/atmospheres, and lots of hotel rooms so that means they are more willing to give great room rates for the guests staying.

Our groom was really into the design/look of the ballroom, the variety of centerpieces and table looks. Our friends at Square Root did an awesome job with the ballroom, floral/linens/dancefloor/decal, and TMMPRO draped the room and provided the chivaris and we had Chivari Chair Rentals come and cover the seat cushions as we wanted silver not the normal white or ivory. We had our friend Sandeep both days handling the music, we love him. As you can tell by the photos we were working both days with our good friend and awesome photographer Frank Salas, Robles Video who has created a real niche in the Indian market were up bright and early both days (Friday was around 3am!!). Dolled up by Lulu did the beautification both days of the ladies. The team at Hilton Bayfront headed by Lisa Gossman were fabulous as always.
We bought Karla from Elegant by Design in for the Friday event at the Temple, she created the focal wall/picture backdrop area and had to redo the dining table two times when we changed the linens from breakfast to lunch, go EBD
Till next week

Our last wedding of 2016
Well, this was a special one, for many reasons and a wonderful way to end a great 2016. Our young bride is a cancer survivor and working with her and her mom over the past year was a pleasure. Nicole was in charge the day of with Teri helping as well, so Cindi was in great hands with my ladies while I was living large in Sydney with old friends, thanks ladies.
From the get go we planned on the ceremony being indoors (it was the end of December), and the venue chosen was the Hotel Irvine which happens to have a lovely tent out the back (with a great ceremony lawn if you did want to do the ceremony outdoors) and a great courtyard for cocktails. So above you see the portion of the tent we did the ceremony in
Displays that do get noticed…… we love a pretty placecard table and this pic doesn’t really do it justice, oh well. The candy display was in the wedding colors and had special candies the bride and groom both liked and some from South Africa where the bride and a good portion of the guests came from, Kim who does these beautiful displays was my fave vendor find towards the end of 2016
And now the dining/dancing portion of the tent
Such a pretty color palette along with bling and candles. We pulled together a wonderful vendor team to make Cindi’s dreams come true. Thanks to Frank Salas/photo for the pics and always being wonderful to work with from our perspective and to our couples and their friends and family, Parallel Media for being unobtrusive videographers – we so appreciate that, to EBD floral/Karla as always you make my couples so happy when they finally see the dream vision become a reality, to La Tavola for the bling linens so thick and scrumptious, to my fave band always, Full Spectrum/Adam Jackson, thanks for being awesome we love you and the band and by the end of the night so do all the couples and guests, and to Flawless Faces for beautifying all the lovely ladies. Finally to Ebi and the team at the Hotel Irvine, thank you for being so great to work with. We look forward to working with you many many times in the future.
So while the wedding was being setup and during I was getting pics texted to me by frank so I could see how well things were coming along, and he sent me the one above with our bride and groom on the ‘ice rink’, love it.
A great wedding was had by all involved and there to experience. This wedding reminds us of why we love what we do.

Ritz-Carlton Laguna Wedding
From the day the bride and her parents came to meet with me I knew we were going to have a fun time pulling this wedding together and then seeing it all evolve on the day.
The brides parents got married here at the Ritz-Carlton Dana Point 30 years ago and one of the Uncles had also been married there, so a real family tradition/location they consider personal is what this beautiful hotel means to them all. So very special
Navy blue was a very popular accent or dominant color for weddings in 2016 and totally worked with the new carpet that appeared in the Terrace Room during the year, lol.
As you can see, my brides style was more natural and she wanted all low centerpieces and was not a colored/seamless/glossy dancefloor kind of girl, so we used the one provided by the hotel. As always the balcony of the Terrace Salon with the furniture and firepits was very popular once dinner was over, and when I left there was actually a small group of guests still sitting out there not ready to call it a night (the B&G, parents and other guests were in the hotel bar).
We pulled together the perfect team, everyone was so happy to be there working on this wedding because they were just lovely lovely people. Thanks to Frank Salas for the photos and being fab as always, Karla/Elegant by Design for ‘getting’ the vision perfectly, Peter/Vive Ent for the dinner/dancing music, to Naples for the strings for the ceremony and being so great to always work with, to Luxe Linens for the napkins and linens that brought the key color to reality, to Design Visage for beautifying everyone and being on time and always working with my schedule and to Paul Uhlar for doing a really great ceremony as always/we have done around 2000 together over the years, and last but not least our team/friends/family at the Ritz-Carlton Dana Point, its been 15 years of a beautiful relationship, happy brides and grooms/happy guests/happy hotel/happy Lisa!!

Ritz-Carlton Laguna/Pavilion Ballroom
A very busy bride and a lovely mom and I had a great journey which ended up with a really fabulous celebration. Tiffany had an inspiration picture with the floral runner/candles inset which she loved, so of course we always knew we would have rectangle tables to be able to use that design on. Along the way we created the perfect vendor team for them and the vision went from one picture to many other elements that created her custom wedding.
Of course the seamless dancefloor and decal were from my new fave vendor of 2015 TMMPRO, along with the boxed florals infront of the stage which became a big had to have in 2015, doesn’t it all look fabulous!! The luge for the signature drink was by fabulous Mark of Icebulb.
The use of benches on the balcony gives a lot more seating if wanting to add a furniture area along with the regular tall and low cocktail tables, and Tiffany wanted a firepit from tthe beginning so of course there it was on the night
Pre cocktail pic of the view from the balcony and why so many local and destination wedding couples choose this hotel and space to celebrate at. Don’t you love the placecard table display, so fluffy, thanks to the hydrangea table top cover.
Carrying on the hydrangea runner look/feel to the headtable and these pics showcase the beautiful Luxe Linen that was usd on the headtable and the rectangle tables in the room
3 different Luxe Linens were used throughout the room, lots of texture/looks, love it.
Great vendor team on board for this wedding. Frank Salas/photographer-thanks as always for being such a great team player, Elegant by Design for bringing our beginning design thoughts through to reality as always, Lake Forest limousines for the Packard and limos used to get everyone from the hotel to the church to the hotel, and of course, to our fabulous team/family at the Ritz-Carlton-we love you soooooo much!!!! And to the best band ever – well that is what all my couples say during and after their weddings, Full Spectrum Music/Adam Jackson, mom and bride took forever to book them even though I kept saying I would not steer you wrong, on the night mom comes over to me and says, Lisa this band is sooo good, guests keep coming up and telling me the best wedding band they have ever heard, why don’t everyone just book them immediately!! I said to her, tell me about it, lol

Monarch Beach Resort fab wedding
Oh how I enjoyed working with these two. A surgeon and a designer, great style and taste.
We pulled together the perfect vendor team for them, Frank Salas/photo (thanks for the photos here), Elegant by Design floral/Karla and her awesome team, Albert/dj, linens by Luxe and the blue by Wildflower – actually custom made for them as it was a certain shade of blue they wanted, TMMPRO for the acrylic chivaris, and to Classic Party Rentals for the china used for the fabulous luncheon the guests got to enjoy, and last but by no means least, Laura and the team at the Monarch Beach Resort, love love working with you all and have done so for the past 15 years, its an honor to share with you seeing couples dream weddings become a reality
When you drop the guest list a bit, you can get really creative with this space. I really love the touches that have been added since the re-invention of this wonderful resort (formerly the St Regis)
We do love us a hanging cake. I did the first one here at Club 19 and love it when my couples want to have one too.
This couple actually ‘tied the know’ during the ceremony, check my instagram out from Oct and you will see what I am talking about.
They are back in Texas now but I know that over xmas tables and new year celebrations, their family and friends are going to be talking about that awesome wedding they came to here in S CA.

Huntington Beach & Hotel wedding
The beach theme made its way across the street to the placecard table, driftwood and orchids, love it. There wasn’t a memorable enhancement they weren’t up for, doves at the end of the ceremony, even on the beach, yes please.
Great shoe shot by Frank Salas, great looking shoes but not worn much that day by our lovely bride, as always!! The pic above on the right is the surfboard martini luge which was a huge hit
Such a great time working with these two on the planning of their wedding. They were the third referral from someone I know in Arizona, my Arizona couples love the beach and that is where the weddings are held. During the planning a baby was even born!! So Nick is a surfer and we had a martini luge created of a surfboard which was out on the balcony with the Pacific Ocean in the background, and Annemarie was such a great bride in trusting and going along with a lot of my thoughts on how to make their wedding look fabulous.
They sat at a great B&G table, and we had my fave, the round dancefloor in attendance.
We mixed up the tables, rounds and rectangles, and that meant a variety of floral looks
Behind the sweetheart table was a round room, we tried to do the first hanging cake in that room but it just did not work out, so instead had the cake sit on a great acrylic table display and created a cool sitting area.
The wedding ceremony was originally booked at the hotel but as time went along Annemarie asked about getting married on the beach and as they were before Memorial Weekend it was able to happen and look how empty the beach is, so lucky. Wendy Smith/my fave harpist loved the stage/platform that was made for her, and the ceremony décor was a mix of driftwood and strung orchids moving in the wind, it was really lovely
You need to always look after the guests when doing a beach/sand wedding and the Waterfront Beach Resort were so fabulous in making everything happen and create a great station for the dry and damp cloths for our guests feet.
We had an awesome team on board for this one, Frank Salas/photographer-thanks for the ballroom pics/the beach pics are mine, Scott Cummings Music band Dirty Sugar, Design Visage for beautifying everyone and ensuring their looks withstood the ocean wind, Square Root Designs for the florals/futniture/linens-we love them so much. Carving Ice for the martini luge-it turned out even better than I had hoped. Chiavari Chair Rentals for the ghost chairs and dancefloor, Shane Productions/video, Clint Hufft for doing a great ceremony as always, White Flite the best dove release company out there and I always do 100/most impact, and of course Vanessa and the team at the Waterfront Beach Resort. It was great being back there again, and very exciting with their renovations and new ballrooms and ceremony space that will be on board in the next year, but I have to say, combining the beach with a room at the hotel that looks over to the beach is pretty hard to beat.

Ritz-Carlton Laguna, fun wedding
Well first off, felt more personal than normal because our groom was from Australia and even though I am from New Zealand, we are both from ‘downunder’ living in this big old USofA so anyone you come across feels like family. I always look even more forward to the toasts when I know someone English, Australian or a kiwi is going to make one, there is a tradition to them we all use no matter what your age is (in fact Peter of Vive Ent likes it so much he called me to get the scoop so he could do the same thing in his toast at his wedding we just had) plus we have a different sense of humor and I am normally in the corner laughing with my hand over my mouth as no one else in the room is getting it or what is being said is going over their heads, aaaaah I am so naughty!
They booked me for Month of service, but made good use of my preferred vendor list and would email if they had questions during the planning months. They were such a fun couple, the brides mom was just lovely, and everything they are was reflected in the flowers being more tropical and colorful than we normally see, the chuppah (refomed ceremony thus everyone standing on the non-orthodox side at the ceremony) with the hanging strands that made lovely music when they moved in the wind and their choice of vendors, Frank Salas-thanks for the photos, Karla/Elegant by Design-florals and Peter/Vive for keeping that dancefloor full as always.
They had no need for rentals as the hotel chairs and dancefloor worked for them but the beauty of the Terrace Salon is the walls (as you see in the bottom picture) which really works in the evening with the candle light and the fabulous balcony with the comfortable furniture seating/firepits that the guests really enjoy using. And of course to the awesome team at the Ritz who help us ensure a five star experience is had by all.
Till tomorrow

Plaza Room-no dancing, Ritz Laguna
Erin and David were just wanting an intimate daytime celebration of their getting married with close friends/family, great location, excellent food/service, then when it was over everyone got comfortable and went/did what they wanted to for the rest of the afternoon/evening.
These pics show that you can spread out and have a lovely event, no dancefloor needed, thanks to Frank Salas for these pics and for being a gem. To Design Visage for beautifying the ladies, to Karla/EBD florals for as always getting the vision and making it happen, the florals/vases were beautiful, Monico Décor for the benches on the balcony which were well used and the other rentals, and to Jeff/Moondance Music for handling the ceremony music and providing great luncheon/socializing background music. We did a bouquet toss where the bride was on the balcony and the girls at the balcony doors, that wonderful Pacific ocean made a great backdrop for those pics. To keep it intimate Uncle Edward officiated the ceremony. A really lovely celebration for a lovely couple for sure!!
