Sandals family Resorts – Beaches Resorts

So if you love everything that a Sandals Resorts offers, the range of room types, service options including butlers, the quality, all the food and beverages being included, resort entertainment and activities included, airport transfers included, but you now have kids, or you are a group of friends, guys or girls, or both, and don’t want to share a bed (yes Sandals only does one bed per room, no rollaways lol!!) or want to do a multi family trip and a Sandals Resort isn’t going to work, then a Beaches Resort will work for you, they offer all the above and more because you still want adult time right??? so the options for kids/all age groups to do to keep them busy is awesome.

And yes, they will come to the bedroom and say goodnight to the wee ones!!

Let me get you there!!!!  Beaches Resorts are located on the islands of Turks & Caicos (right on Grace Beach, its gorgeous), and two in Jamaica, Negril where again the beach is lovely/best beach in Jamaica, its very quiet/relaxing and you have access to do other fun things on that side of the island, Ricks place is well worth the boat or cab ride and some rum drinks with fun music to listen or dance to while you watch silly peeps jumping off the cliffs, lol, and Ocho Rios the port are of Jamaica, so more busy/things to see/do outside of the resort, this resort is made up of 5 villages, the Greek Village is my fave!!

You can also incorporate a renewal of vows if you want, or have your friends/family come to celebrate your destination wedding with you!!!

Till next time

Destination wedding St Vincent & the Grenadines

We left on our yacht charter from St Vincent, caught a boat there from Bequia, but stayed on St Vincent pre and post, so took a good look around and found a few great hotels for destination weddings.  Again, this is for the couple that is looking for off the main Caribbean island tourist route, takes a bit more effort to get there, but well worth it.

So if interested, I can help you plan it all.

Till next time

Jamaica overwater bungalows-Sandals

Did you know you don’t have to go to Tahiti to find overwater bungalows??!!  Well you don’t, I have been selling Sandals all-inclusive Resorts in the Caribbean since 2005 and a couple of years ago they were the first resorts in the Caribbean to add overwater bungalows.  The first ones were at the Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, and i was very fortunate to be there with a small group of wedding planners that sell Sandals and we were lucky enough to be able to get a quick 10 mins in one between the cleaning from a checked out guest ending to a new couple arriving at the resort to go in.  These have been sold out from the minute they hit the market, so successful were they that they were added to another Jamaica resort and in St Lucia, more on those resorts in another post.

The pics above are what you see when your butler opens your door to the villa and the balcony area with your own plunge pool, 3 levels of deck for enjoying , an outdoor shower, lots of seating including a fab big round flat swing you can lie on and just enjoy the view.

The bathroom and outdoor shower areas, yes, i would use all the above, lol

Decisions decisions, swim in your own plunge pool or the ocean??!!

Lets do dinner on the lower deck, closer to the ocean tonight honey xoxx

Think i will take that stairway to heaven….

Should we nap on the netting and fall asleep looking at the wee fish below or you can swing me to sleep on the swing?  I’m the one covered in pillows, lol

You are picked up at Montego Bay airport and have a luxury vehicle private transfer to the airport where your butler meets you, then escorts you to the boat for your transfer to the island where the overwater villas and bungalows are off of.  You have access to the island where there is a restaurant, pool, lots of lovely beach, but the rest of the resort guests who can access the island via a larger boat transfer are not allowed to come down the pier where the overwaters are, so you are very very exclusive.

My fave place would be the lower deck sitting in those bucket seats reading and sipping my champagne and saying, how lucky am I.    aaaahhhhhhhhhh

The pic with the crane is the overwater bungalows starting to be built at the other Jamaican Sandals Resort lucky enough to get them.

The guests on the main part of the resort look over and wish and wonder!

the glass to the water at the foot of the bed gives a beautiful light in your villa all night.

View from the bedroom area

This resort has 2 options for the overwaters, one with the big deck/plunge pool, referred to as Villas, and a 2nd with smaller interior and deck and a soaking tub referred to as a bunglow.  I had one couple last year spend 8 nights in a bungalow overwater, they would have stayed in the Villa but they were not available-just fyi they are always sold out/first to go, its amazing.  Even getting 8 nights in the Bungalow was hard, they were flexible with their dates and had to actually spend a night prior to going out to the bungalow in a suite on the main land part of the resort.  When i go looking for rooms those 2 room types are always the ones showing big red SOLD OUTs on them!!

Remember with Sandals it’s all inclusive, airport transfers are included, all food/beverage, resort activities and entertainment, resort snorkeling and if you dive resort diving, if not certified you can get certified quickly and for a low cost in 1/2 a day and then enjoy all that free diving, and with this resort you are just down the street from the Sandals Montego Bay Resort and there are shuttles you can catch to go back and forth, so you can enjoy all the amenities and restaurants/bar/lounges over there as well, and there is no extra charge, all included.  Pay for 1, stay/play at 2.  there are also excursions and activities off resort that can be arranged for you too, so you don’t get there and waste time trying to work out what else you may want to do.

Call, email me, let’s get your vacation, honeymoon, group trip, destination wedding planned in Jamaica at one of the Sandals Resorts or on any of the other 5 Caribbean islands they have Sandals or Turks & Caicos where we have a Beaches Resort, for families, or friends that don’t want to share a bed at a Sandals!

Till next time

Barbados wedding or honeymoon

I have actually been a certified Sandals specialist for the past 12 years and have sent many couples to the resorts in the Caribbean on their honeymoon.  On my recent trips I noticed a huge change, many more couples on vacation-young to older, groups of couples travelling together, and adult family groups staying.  So its time to open it up to everyone, let me take you there for whatever your reason is, vacation, wedding, honeymoon.

Here’s a couple of great options for a Barbados wedding.  These pics are the current Sandals Resort ( 2nd one is coming).  Above a lovely space for an intimate wedding dinner celebration if you have a group of people that come with you, and the other pics are maybe my fave accommodations at the resorts, the walk out into the pool rooms.

View from the swim out room and looking at the patio area, love love love

Its not a wedding setup, but the chandeliers in this intimate room for an indoor wedding reception where you can have dancing until late, and air conditioning, are quite lovely.  The cake pop picture is actually the cake tasting plate all couples get to enjoy/make their wedding cake decisions from

A ceremony setup on the beach and a view a bit further down the beach as the sun was setting.

I loved the coloring of these cabanas and could imagine a good photographer getting some great pics of a B&G in these.

Here is another resort I have stayed at in Barbados, the Crane.  I love love it, on the east side of the island past the airport.  So grand and very English looking/feeling to me.  Its on a bluff so very high up giving great views.  The pool above is actually a Jacuzzi with awesome views

Some of the accommodations and another pool area

One of the top beaches in the world.  The sand is just beautiful and the building above is a really lovely restaurant with views that amaze

A banquet room with views and a stage that rumor has it a very famous rocker has one of his homes down the hill and his band came over and had a session on it one night!!!

That elevator is how you get down to the beach if you are lazy like me!!

View of the beach by the elevator from above.  Suite style accommodation for very reasonable pricing

The high quality balcony furniture, I may have had a nap out there they were so comfy.  Apparantly Mick Jagger had been there not long before us and had accommodation like ours but on the lower level where they had their own good size pool!! I would have never left my room waiting to get a glimpse, lol

Living area and bedroom, bed was soooo comfy

Yes that bath got used by me and it was great.  The walkway for the upper floor in the area we stayed, very tropical and lovely, no boring hotel hallway here.

The restaurants and food at both resorts are fabulous, amenities high quality/service excellent.  Sandals is all inclusive so that becomes hard to beat, but maybe you can be like me and experience both!!

Let me take you to Barbados for your weddingmoon for just the two of you, or an intimate group or a large group.  Or if thinking honeymoon or just a vacation because you deserve it, you will love the Sandals Resort, and a new one is opening in December.

Till next time

St Lucia honeymoon, vacation or even Destination wedding

I have been a certified Sandals Specialist since 2005 and have sent many honeymooners to the all inclusive Sandals Resorts in the Caribbean.  I have been to nearly all of the resorts but in the past year there have been a lot of upgrades to a lot of them, so I headed out and checked up on 8 of the resorts in Jamaica, St Lucia and Barbados, over the past 8 months.  It was great seeing the upgrades but I saw a change in the dynamics of the guests at the resorts.  Lots of older couples on vacation, lots of couple groups on vacation, younger couples on vacation alone and of course honeymooners, but such a great diversity now that I can really say the Sandals Resorts are for everyone, so let me take you there no matter who you are, we all need a vacation.

The pics on this post are from ST Lucia, where there are 3 resorts and you stay and get to play at all 3, dine at the restaurants at all 3 and enjoy the amenities at all 3.    But the pics on this post are all from the Grande St Lucian Resort.

All inclusive, food/beverage, the resorts water sports, snorkeling and diving if you are a diver, yes all included.  Butler to take care of you or not, a variety of accommodations that means you will find something that matches your priorities and when you consider everything that is included, such really good value, and the quality and level of service is hard to beat in the Caribbean.

Let me take you there, whatever your reason.

Plaza Room, Ritz-Carlton Laguna

_DSC4274 _DSC4275

I love it when a bride picks up on something that most people are ok with, but Sally hated the railings around the balcony and wanted them prettied up.  Both bride and groom love flowers and have flower gardens at their homes, so were really into sharing with Karla/Elegant by Design and had long discussions about flowers.  It was lovely.  Karla totally came to the party with the end result and both B&G were thrilled.

_DSC4370 _DSC4382

We came up with such a pretty vision, it was really an elegant beautiful celebration for an older very much in  love couple.  One of the best vows from a groom to a bride I have ever heard ‘I promise you will never fly coach again’!!  Yeah baby.

DSC_0118  DSC_0184 DSC_0401

We pulled together the perfect vendor team for this couple, James Johnson photography/thanks for the photos above, Karla/Elegant by Design florist, Enchanted Evening strings for our ceremony and cocktail music, Essence Entertainment for the band that kept the white dancefloor full, Monico for the rentals and Paul Uhlar for doing a great ceremony as always.  To my friends at the Ritz-Carlton, you make our weddings 6 star events, so thank you very very much.

Cabo San Lucas weddings

photo 3

So so many options for your destination wedding in Cabo.  On the sand, by a pool, on a cliff overlooking the ocean/towards the rock, at a hotel, restaurant or open area, closer to town or at the other more resort end of Cabo, so many hotels/areas, whatever you are looking for, you will find it.  I have been to Cabo 4 times and about to head down for my 5th trip and will do another post with more pictures.  If you are coming from S CA, its such a short flight, reasonably priced and a variety of hotels for your guests to stay at if they choose to not stay where you are or you choose to not have them stay where you are staying!! lol

Let me help you plan and then orchestrate your wedding in Cabo so you can relax and enjoy the process and the day/celebration.

Aruba wedding

photo 2 photo 3 photo 4 photo 5

What you see above is the epitomy of Aruba. Beautiful days and blue ocean, gorgeous evenings and sunsets.  Many many hotels and locations around the hotel to have a beautiful wedding ceremony and celebration after.  So many hotel options that if your guests don’t want to stay where you are for some reason, they don’t have to and it won’t cost and arm and a leg to travel back and forth to their hotel.  fun things to do in the days leading up to the wedding for those interested if you want to do some group activities.  If you are interested in a wedding in Aruba, let me help you.  I’ve been a couple of times and know the area/hotels well.

photo 6 photo 7

Now not for everyone, but if the tropical island is not your thing for the wedding, but the honeymoon yes.  How about Panama?  The space above is banquet space that looks right over the Panama Canal so while guests are eating/dancing/socializing they can be watching huge ships going through the lochs, its pretty amazing.  Lots of things to do in and around Panama City, there’s an old town which is great, plus beautiful beaches and rainforest day trips, then you can head to Aruba for your honeymoon and guests can head home or to whatever Caribbean island they want to end their trip on/at.

photo

Aruba, pre dinner on the sand, or how about your wedding and celebration both being held on the sand??!!  Its all possible.

Till next time

Sandals Antigua

Thought I would report on a great location to honeymoon at, or even take yourselves only, or a small group to, for a destination wedding.

I was last in Antigua about 20 years ago, so it was time to go back, and I have just come back from a few nights down/over there.

If you are looking for a resort that has 2 sides to it where you can utilise/get the benefits of both, then this resort fits the bill.  A boutique/island side that is older and quaint and romantic, and the new side (only 3 years old) that has the new modern rooms, high rise with views over the gardens to the ocean, and  the big pool.   When I would look back up at the new building it reminded me of Bellagio a bit in Las Vegas.  Great bathroom with tons of room and a lovely shower as well as a big oval bathtub with jets, four poster bed, sitting area, and a cute balcony you could sit on and watch the sunset, if you weren’t down at the beach doing that.  The part that makes a Sandals stay so great is, all the food (choice of quite a few restaurants and areas that offer/serve food) and the beverages are included.  So from the well stocked fridge/bar in your room, champagne/beer/hard liquor, to no matter where you went being able to get what you want when you want, there is no stress about what the bill is going to be at the end.

The items that will be on the bill will be the extra items you chose to spend money on, ie, items from the boutiques/shops on property, internet (could do wireless but there was a fee by the day or week), excursions, and of course the spa which I had to sample and it was lovely and well worth the $$.

They also have some neat small villa accommodations around the property that are very private and have your own jacuzzi and plunge pool outside with chaise loungers and small table and chairs, very romantic and secluded feeling.  These and some of the other level accommodations come with a butler, and the couples who had one were loving it, no thinking involved.  Their meals were booked/pre planned for them at the different restaurants etc, and anything they could be thinking they may want to do, they make it happen.  We even saw some go down to the beach and save seats for them in the shade and then take the couples lunch/drinks etc, while we had to go and get ours!!  Believe me we needed to do the walking with all the food and drinks we were enjoying, and never once did I think to find a gym!!

Think I have been/seen all the Sandals now or the islands they are on, and if you are considering the Caribbean and going with Sandals, whether I am your planner or not, let me know.  I have my couples work with a special department there, the price is the same as if you book on line or randomly call the 800 #.  With the dept I use you get personalized service from your first call through until you make the last before you head out the door for the plane.  So again, if you want personalized service, email me and I will put you in touch with the department and that’s it, you don’t hear from me again, you just work directly with them.

For couples only, or small groups, you can have a wonderful destination wedding at any of the Sandals.  We saw quite a few while we were there, in various areas around the resort, some with djs and sit down meals, and some just the couple.  You can either do the planning here in the US yourself and then let the resort co-ordinators handle everything for you down there, or you could work with me helping you put everything together on this end and then be there to ensure all goes well once you are down there, and can even be the liaison between you and Sandals so you can only work with me if you want.

Vacation or honeymoon, you won’t be disappointed.
