Pelican Hill Resort Wedding-all outdoors

Been looking forward to doing this post for 2 reasons….

  1. It means thanks to Coronavirus /shelter in place, i have been able to spend the past month getting my blogs caught up and this post means i have managed to get all of 2017 and 2018 done and there are a couple of 2019 that made it in before this post, but i can officially say, i am now done with being really behind, whew, next post will be 2019, which means i am still behind but not as bad as i was and without shelter at home I would have never been able to get caught up
  2. I end my 2018 posts with this lovely Pelican Hill wedding that was our first where everything was done outdoors, we never used the ballroom at all, so excited to show you.

The B&G came in from AZ and the guests came from AZ too and all around the world to celebrate this couple  Again, being flexible gets you the location of your dream.  As it was a Monday night they got a reduced F&B minimum which worked as they were only 80 guests, and we pulled a great vendor team together that we may not have been able to get if we were a Sat, Sun or Fri.

I pulled everything together with the bride and then as i was going to be out of the country on the day itself, lovely Nicole one of my Day of Co-ordinators took over and did  an wesome job as always!!

.

Thanks to Katina Photography for the pics, she was just lovely to work with and loved this wedding, she keeps posting it on Instagram!!  Dan/Plug Video, Jeff Holmes/Officiant, Design Visage, Lighting/chiavaris TMMPRO, a bar front that you don’t get to see/Chiavari Rentals, and beautiful florals from EBD Floral, and of course to our friends/team at Pelican Hill Resort, as always exceptional to work with, xoxox

Till next time

Hyatt HB Destination wedding

So Cece and Cleo and all their guests came from Memphis, Tennessee, for her CA Beach wedding.  There was about 50 in total that came and had a great CA vacay at the end of 2019.  Again, this is a situation where if you are flexible you can have your dream (and our dreams/budget/style are all so different) come true.  They chose to do it on a sunday and in the daytime (again, saves on lighting and puts the focus more on being together/the view etc.   Aunty Orlene officiated and i have to tell you, one of the best ceremonies ever, she was amazing!!

Originally they were on the Nautical deck for the ceremony and then coming to Sandpiper Room, using that patio for after cere socializing (no alcohol at this wedding), but as the time got closer and things became available, Cheryl at the Hyatt HB really worked with me to make this as special as we could for the couple and their guests.  They got to move to Lighthouse Courtyard and we angled the ceremony so they would not have guests walking over the bridge in the background, then we got to use the Red Chair Lounge patio for the socializing time and then into Sandpiper they came, where we did 3 long tables, 1 for bparty/linear style and the guest tables on each side, it really made for everyone feeling like they were together.  Cece had booked our services with one of my Day of Co-ordinators orchestrating on the day, but same thing for me if as the wedding gets closer I am not booked, then they get me on the day, which happened a few times in 2019, so lucky couples, i think/hope, lol!!

Great working with Joe Broccardo Photo, it had been a while (but i think the pics above are all mine though??!!), Karen’s Flowers (no insta or website), Sweet Traders for the cake as Cece wanted it, and Peter/Vive Entertainment for always being willing to work with the opportunities i present to him, lol xoxox

Beautiful Ritz Laguna Terrace Salon wdg

When i showed Rachel her ballroom she gasped.  I said ‘it’s like a beautiful garden’ and she said ‘that’s exactly what i wanted and i didn’t even realise it’  thanks to Square Root for nailing it.  Look at that ceremony setup, stunning.

We did a mixture of rectangle and round tables in Terrace Salon and tons of candles.

It was a beautiful destination wedding for sure!! Thanks to Brett Hickman for the pics, it had been a while since we had worked together, good to be back, Hoo Films Video, Design Visage for hair/makeup, not only did Square Root do the gorgeous florals but they also did the linens/dancefloor/stage covers/uplights and TMMPRO did the chiavaris and the band/sheart&cake lighting.  Downbeat LA provided strings for the cere/cocktails and kept the dancefloor going, they were excellent.  Thanks again to the ladies & gentlemen at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna, always a pleasure to work with you to create these memories.

Till next time

Monarch Beach Resort Wedding

Well as my bride from this May wedding last year and I were just discussing (we dm all the time still), our biggest problem was the rain which had us move their ceremony indoors, but if it was this year the wedding would not have happened in May probably.   We had a great time pulling this wedding together, many meetings at their home in Santa Monica as they travel a lot and catching them with time was a bit tricky, most of their guests flew in and spent 4-5 nights at the resort, so we also orchestrated an event the night prior at Club 19.

So as i mention, we had planned an outdoor ceremony on the Grand Lawn with the chuppa that had been created by Square Root from an inspiration picture our bride had been carrying around for quite some time with her.  Now we got to make it happen.  Thanks to Square Root for exceeding her expectations with the whole event, as always!!

Sometimes things work out and with the ceremony being indoors the hotel team and i decided to use their dining table chairs to really fancy up the ceremony and then their crew moved the chairs to the dining tables after the ceremony, flawless.

The guests enjoyed hors d’oevures and cocktails in the ballroom foyer, all were nice and warm for both ceremony and cocktails due to us moving it in, and i will add, it had been raining on and off but at the time the ceremony started in the ballroom it poured down.

We had my fave round dancefloor and their custom decal (thanks TMMPRO) that matched their logo on all their papergoods, along with 2 curved sofas from Hire Elegance from San Diego that nestled around the dancefloor perfectly .  We had a mix of rectangle mirror/gold tables and round tables.  The sweetheart table was a rectangle for 4, the groom’s sons sat with them, well for a bit anyway, lol.

We had a great back corner setup for when the guests entered the ballroom, but during dinner while they were all busy enjoying the awesome meal prepared by the chef’s at MBR we had a Photobooth operator come in and setup their camera in front of it for after dinner.

The only thing we had to give up due to the weather was a dove release that was planned for the end of the ceremony, but the guest’s were none the wiser!!  Thanks to Joe Latter for the pics and always being so easy/great to work with xoxo

till next time

Laguna Cliffs Marriott wedding

img_0987

This was Lisa’s backdrop to her destination wedding here in S CA.  For the 60 guests who came from all over the country, it was a perfect late afternoon wedding followed by cocktails and dinner and dancing under the stars, now where else in the USA could  you do that in October!!
