Viceroy Cabo Destination Wedding

Well the Viceroy Cabo is everything you expect and more, cool/hip/modern/clean

The rooms are fab, some are even water level, and there are lots of cool spaces to have get togethers/receptions and wedding ceremonies.

Lovely beach area, pools, fabulous spa, excellent food and drinks.  Set along the corridor it is very central for either Cabo or San Jose del Cabo, so great for a Destination Wedding where all can stay at the wedding hotel or come to it, and also for excursions from.  Let me help you pull your wedding together and my travel partner will arrange everyone’s air/hotel/transport and the awesome group excursions for pre/post wedding.

Till next time

Ritz-Carlton Laguna Terrace Salon wdg

Ohhhh Lea and Craig, loved them, so fun.  Craig is English and not the stuffy kind of English (being 1/4 English I know my English, lol) and he was funny and kept us very amused through the whole planning process.  This was a couple that had a great time at their wedding.  Above is their sweetheart table, using my fave B&G sofa and i love a sweetheart table with orchids dropping off it.  And… as all the hotels and my brides know, tea sandwiches come before everyone gets dressed.  They are smaller so as the makeup is done the ladies are still able to have food of substance to tide them over until they get to eat big again at dinner (or cocktails if they are lucky) and if a little champagne has been consumed during getting ready it helps keep everyone awake, lol.  The Ritz-Carlton Laguna does the job perfectly for my brides/ladies.

We did the ketubah signing in the Private Dining Room, then Rabbi Ian led the ceremony with the ocean backdrop, perfection!!

We did a mix of high & low florals, all by Flowers By Cina, thanks again for a fabulous job, Dancefloor+custom decal/B&G sofa/Chiavaris by TMMPRO, cere/cocktail music by Naples Strings, dinner/dancing music+mceeing+lighting by Invisible Touch with Juan and Deon, Design Visage did the hair+makeup and on time as always xoxox

We did the In N Out Run and the parade which I love to lead and make the servers do it with me, not sure if they like it as much as me, lol, which our couples love and the Ritz did a station to go with it with the groom’s fave fried items.  Terrace Salon Balcony is a popular place at every wedding, men migrate out there to chat during the noise/dancing and ladies head out in-between, sometimes the event ends and i realise there is a big group sitting out there chatting not ready to leave!!

thanks as always to our Ritz Carlton family, we love being there with you all xoxox

Till next time

Ritz-Carlton Maui Wedding

At the end of a vacation in Hawaii/Oahu in September I headed over to Maui to check out the Ritz Carlton there as we will be having a wedding there in July 2020.  The pics above are the beach beyond the site we will be doing the ceremony/dinner/dance at.

The ceremony will be at an angle to the right of this concrete pad, cocktails are to the left of the concrete pad, and the concrete pad will be our dancefloor with the guest tables on the lawn area infront of it.

When the couple came to me the plan was to have the wedding in OC/S CA, but the budget was not giving them ocean backdrop which was important to them, so I researched high and low and believe it or not, this is where we ended up.  A Monday wedding at a Five Star Hotel where some guests will be staying there but others are going to be at Air BnBs and other hotels not far from the Ritz, so a destination wedding at its best meaning lots of options for peoples budgets/style and the ability for them to vacay pre or post there or elsewhere and not feel like they spent money to come to a destination wedding but it wasn’t somewhere they would stay/hang and vacation.  Our couple is not honeymooning in Hawaii, a month later they are heading to one of my Sandals Resorts in the Caribbean and will enjoy one of my fave swim up pool rooms!!

Can’t wait, it’s going to be great.

Till next time

Ritz Laguna Outdoor wedding

I LOVED helping MacKenzie pull her wedding together from start to finish, I was so involved in every detail I even brought the cushions we put on the benches on the balcony, was hoping they would not want to take them as it was a destination wedding for all, but I have such good taste it seems, they wanted them and took them home with them, lol.

From the getgo Mackenzie wanted dinner outside, soooo

we did the ceremony on Monarch Bay Sunset Lawn, the dining tables were set on the Monarch Bay Sunset Terrace but stacked by the cliff, so plenty of walking room for the guests and our bridal party to walk on, guests left the ceremony and went to Plaza Balcony for cocktails, we spread the dining tables out/cere florals were put on the dining tables, dinner was done on the terrace which was really beautiful and the sunset behind her dad and the toasters was amazing, a wedding scene that guests will not forget quickly.  Then into Plaza room which was setup for dancing and we had the cake there.  Now the one thing Mackenzie and her mom weren’t sure on for most of the planning time, then said, ok Lisa add it, was the draping.  When they both walked in and saw the room pre dinner they both looked and me and said, you were right Lisa you were right.

Dancefloor/draping/lighting in Plaza and around the dining area/benches all by TMMPRO, Hair/makeup by Design Visage never a late bride for me, Flowers by Cina for the florals, Jewel Cole Photography thanks for the pics, the lighter ones are hers and the darker are my iPhone ones of course/not sure why everyone else gets great pics on their iphones!!  and to Peter/Vive Entertainment for all the music/all areas and mceeing, awesome job as always my friend, and to our partners at the Ritz where teamwork makes the dream work, and together we sure do xoxox

Oh and it didn’t end with the wedding, I sent them to Sandals Negril for their honeymoon where they had a fabulous time xoxox

Till next time

Venice Italy wedding

So fortunate that this was my 5th time to Venice.  You can never say you know it inside and out because there are so many areas and alleys and places to get lost in, but from a standpoint of lovely resorts and incredible excursions for your guests to do to make this destination wedding even more magical, yep, it’s all there.

This trip happened to be just about this time last year, so if it was now it would not be happening.  Have plans to be back later in the year, but due to coronavirus we will see.  My US bestie was having a special birthday and my birthday is 5 days after hers, so after a few days toddling around Tuscany doing things we had not done before together there, off to Venice by train we went, nice and easy, and then into our water taxi on the way to the Hotel Danielli where we had a waterfront view room that was just incredible.  We sat on our balcony that really wasn’t a balcony drinking mini bar champagne, yes that is how caught up in the moment we were, lol, and from our standpoint we were giving people joy walking by that saw two lovely ladies living their best lives.  lol

For the first time ever I walked across the bridge of Sighs, amazing!!

So many beautiful ornate hotels and restaurants for wedding celebrations here, let me help you pull yours together, and my travel partner will handle yours and the guests’ air/accommodation/transport and those excursions i mentioned earlier.  When the wedding is over everyone will go their own way to live their best lives in Europe before heading home, and will thank you for the experience they had.  Sooo good.

Till next time

Catalina Island wedding

What a great time we had planning and then executing Erin and Jim’s wedding on Catalina, mind you it was a lot of work too once we got on the island, we used the taxis to get from one area to another quickly, no time to walk it, and I still did just under 12k steps.  Slept well that night for sure.  Nicole was there to assist me and she ran her butt off too, but she needed to get back so caught the 7pm boat back same day, easy!!

Karen’s Flowers  handled the flowers for ceremony and reception and i know had a heart attack when she found out the original size of the frame for the ceremony was too big/even in pieces to go over on the boat, so had to do some last minute adjustments the week prior.  But doesn’t it look great on that lawn.  The wedding was on a Monday late October so the island was empty/no cruise ships (big difference when the ship was in the next day, crazy) and it felt like the island was their exclusive resort for the wedding.  Above you see Joe Latter and i having a big meeting at the beach club, very stressed we were, can you tell, lol JK.. Josh Vietti provided the music for all 3 areas and did a great job

An amazing thing happened after the ceremony, a mother deer and her kids and some others came to the cere site and they were not scared of us at all, they just wanted to eat grass, oh and the brides bouquet, which she offered to the deer, so don’t worry, it was not an accident and she was beside herself, quite the contrary.  They did demolish one bridesmaid bouquet though, that was hilarious

Cocktails were held in the building next to the cere lawn and had a great view to the ocean and to the CA coast, it was weird being on that side of it, I have to say.

They did a buy out of a restaurant in the township which worked out perfectly for their size/guests and they had a blast, food was really good too

This was a really relaxed cool wedding, the couple are in the hotel business and their core group of friends are too, we all know each other, so i was really honored to be asked to do the wedding with/for them, and I got to see my hotel peeps as well as other Chef’s i have married who were there too.  And there are no comparisons as to how hotel/wedding industry people party, we party, so they had a great time for sure.

We transferred everyone from the cocktail area to the township in one of the open air buses and the guests were having a great time for sure.  Thanks to everyone from Catalina Island company and the folks on the island, especially the taxi drivers that were loving us, for helping us ensure everything went well that day.  Just remember, it may be close to mainland CA but they are still an island and island time is a thing, lol, it became really apparent to me when I ask for something I need to chill the heck out and wait for it to be done in the time it takes, lol.  Unfortunately i didn’t get to spend more than the wedding night there as i had to get back the next day for an event that night, boo hoo, but i will be back, the spa is awesome over there and you really do get a vacation feel when there.

Till next time

Momi Bay Resort – Fiji wedding

Well I have mentioned Momi Bay Resort in Fiji before, I will always stay here before going out to an island or if I am just stopping for a couple of nights on my way to/from the US.  it’s a Marriott property and I love it.  Huge range of accommodations, hotel rooms with pool and lagoon views/the lagoon view rooms on lower level are just about level with the water!! to beach side duplex bures to single bures, to overwater bungalows in the middle of the lagoon.  The first pic on this post is where i spend my time when i am there, the adult infinity pool, so relaxing and perfect.  The food is excellent and it’s a hug resort so you just call for a golf cart and they drive you where you need to go.  The spa is lovely too and very setup to handle bride/ladies for a wedding day.

Many locations for a wedding ceremony, beach/sand in toes and you can choose ocean or lagoon backdrop, then lots of restaurant or spaces to have dinner/dancing, and if your wedding is big enough they have a whole convention/banquet hall area away from the resort so you can be as noisy as you want.

Yep, my knees and me in my happy place.  It’s never crazy busy, soooo relaxing

Let me help you plan your Fijian Destination wedding here at Momi Bay Resort, it’s going to be sooo good.  My travel partner will handle everyone’s air/hotel/transport and the group excursions we will do pre and post wedding.  And it’s such a great stop (only 10 hours night flight from LA and in coach I see flights sometimes as low as $700 return from laX) if someone is looking to travel to NZ or Australia before or after the wedding, or maybe that’s is where you head off to if not going to an outer island for your honeymoon!!  Decisions decisions.

Hyatt HB Vista Ballroom wedding

What a wonderful relationship Lucrezia and her mom have, well that is probably because Lucrezia is so lovely, and she married lovely Hugo, so it was all just calm and lovely.  How lucky am I to have such lovely client’s.  The Vista Ballroom is the one we have done the most weddings in from the day the hotel opened, and what i love is that not two weddings have been the same, thanks to my couple’s varied styles/budgets/visions and the vendor teams we bring on board.  Don’t you love the backdrop to their sweet heart table?  Her mom was the one that came up with that ultimately and we all loved it.

Lighthouse Lawn ceremony, which normally does not go with Vista Ballroom but it worked out for them and we set it sunset facing.

Of course we had my fave round dancefloor and their custom decal was fabulous, all by TMMPRO along with the draping/3 walls, lighting/chargers/chiavaris. Plug Video was in the house, and Brent Edwards officiated/great job as always.  Napkins by Luxe Linens, Florals by Elegant by Design/Karla and team, and thanks for the photos Mr Frank Salas, always a pleasure working with him, so calm and easy and get things done & gets the shot!!  And to our friends at Hyatt HB, thanks for helping us bring wedding dreams to fruition.

Till next time

New Zealand Destination wedding

Well it’s a no brainer to have me help you plan your destination wedding from here in the USA (where I am based) or anywhere else in the world to New Zealand, as it’s my homeland and I go home a lot.  All the pics here were taken by me in the last year when i travelled back 3 times.  So if you like anything you see and the options are huge, then this is the place for you.  New Zealand is made up of islands, 2 being very big, so the ocean is always close if you are looking for a beautiful ocean backdrop wedding celebration.

Then beautiful countryside is everywhere also!!

Rivers and streams (normally cold) and lots of native bush/ferns

This is the Huka River

Above is the Huka Lodge a beautiful resort, very private, that you can have your high end intimate celebration at and take over the resort.  The food and service is exceptional, ask all the celebrities that stay there!!  Get married next to the river, cocktails on the lawn then a beautiful dinner made with all farm to table wonderful tasting fresh NZ food.

Above is a lovely resort in a wine country area, again perfect for a destination wedding and a great starting point for people to leave from to go to wherever they want to travel after the wedding.

Between the food and the scenery you will never want to leave!!

This was my nephews wedding ceremony location on the grounds of his lovely wife’s family holiday home on the banks of a river, not far from the ocean.  Beautiful

A very cool restaurant in Taupo where they made the chandeliers out of bottles, food was excellent, and we could buy this out and have a great wedding celebration here, after the ceremony with Lake Taupo in the background with further behind a ski mountain and an active volcano!!!

This was a wedding I stumbled upon by Lake Taupo, read the menu, talk about personal touches!!

The wedding by the lake ended with an amazing fireworks show that went on for a good 15 mins!!

Everywhere you go there are sheep, lol, and lovely cafes in the countryside where you can stop and have some really good food.  It’s a thing there to stop and have coffee/tea and something to eat, many times a day!!

The pics above are in Wellington the capital city, sitting on a beautiful harbor, some great fancy hotels and lots of normal hotels/accommodations to suit your guests budgets/style, and lots of options for wedding ceremony and then where to party after.

The 2 pics above are a small resort sitting on Lake Taupo which has about 14 units, all with kitchens/lounge+dining areas and 2 bedrooms, so can sleep up to 8 in each, so if you had a group of 80-100 coming over you could take over this resort, have the ceremony on the lawn right there or elsewhere in the area and then head to where the reception is going to be, and then the next day its the perfect place to just relax and talk about the goings on from last night.  We did my daughter’s 21st here and had about 5 of the units and it was fabulous.

This pic above is from the hotel i stayed at in Auckland and the view of the Auckland Harbor bridge and Auckland city from the unit.  Its a big city, lots of great places to explore and many many options for wedding celebrations.

Or you could have everyone stay in Auckland city, or on Waiheke Island, which sits in the middle of Auckland harbor, where there are lots of wineries and perfect locations for weddings, it is very popular with the kiwis.

The pic with 2 of us having a nice drink at one of the wineries on Waiheke, has me and the beautiful Trish Peng, NZ’s top bridal gown designer who sells her gorgeous gowns all over the world.  She has them here in LA which is where/how I met her and a beautiful salon in Auckland.

This is a brand new rooftop bar, a gin bar in Auckland, views are great and the gin drinks even better!!   So many options in NZ for an intimate group or bigger group to join you for your destination wedding somewhere there, let me plan the wedding with you, and my travel partner can arrange all the air/hotel/transport and group excursions for us.  Or if you are just looking for a honeymoon or vacation to be setup for you, let me know and I will intro you to my peeps who handle travel/trips downunder.  Just as an fyi, i stopover when i fly back and forth, either in Hawaii, Fiji or Tahiti, and sometimes stop in Melbourne or Sydney, so your guests can spend as much time in NZ after or before the wedding and add another stopover if they want.  Its a night flight down, you get on the plane around 11pm, dinner, 3 movies, some sleep, wake up to breakfast and around 9am you are there, and i have paid as little as $700 return with a stopover in Fiji, so it doesn’t have to be anymore than to go to Europe or the Caribbean!!

Till next time, Ki ora

Hyatt HB Huntington Ballroom

Really enjoyed Betty and Adam.  They booked us to handle the reception portion at the hotel only, they did not need us earlier in the day or at the church.  They were our first wedding to do the sparkler cans in the ballroom at Hyatt HB and boy we went through the ringer for that.  My fave moment of the night was when they were on their stage after the grand entrance and the sparklers went off and all the guests were dancing/clapping infront of the B&G and Adam looked at me and gave the thumbs up!

Their grand entrance was lead in by some traditional drummers and all the guests created a tunnel from the door to the dancefloor for them (this is something they all knew to do and do at every wedding) and their culture line dances, it was amazing to watch the majority of the 300 guests line dancing, very calming and peaceful!! of course they had a band and dj and inbetween that was the normal parttttyyyyyyy going on, lol.  Floral was by The Finishing Touch/Brandi & Doug, nice job as always, cake by Sweet Traders-don’t you love the cake topper (we saw quite a few custom ones in 2019) and the dancefloor/decal, stage cover, special lighting/sparklers, chargers/chiavaris were by my team of guys from TMMPRO.  Of course a big shoutout to our pals at Hyatt HB, been doing weddings there since the day the hotel opened, 17 years i believe, wowser!! xoxo
