Sandals Honeymoon for you – St Lucia

Did you know that i sell Sandals all inclusive resorts in the caribbean and have done so since 2005??  I am a Certified Sandals Specialist, have to get re certified every year!! I have been to all the resorts over 8 islands, and normally go down and visit a couple of the resorts/islands 2-3 times a year, so i am always up with what is happening/how they look etc.

Today i am showcasing Regency La Toc one of 3 resorts in St Lucia that Sandals has, and the beauty is, you can stay at one and play/eat/hang out at all 3, all included!!

The pictures above are of my favourite accommodation at this resort, up high on the hill, the views are amazing, you have a bedroom, living area, patio with your own private plunge pool that you can also get into from the bedroom!! You can go down to the main part of the resort where the action/activity is or stay up here in your own little world.  The Italian Restaurant is a 20 second walk across/behind you and it offers breakfast/lunch and dinner, or you can get on a golf cart and go to any of the other restaurants on property here or the other 2, or just have your butler (you get a cell phone to call them up to 10pm at night) to get food sent to your room and you can hibernate.  Right on.

this is the pool at the Italian restaurant behind your accommodation, so if your private plunge pool gets boring you can always head over there and the 1st pic is of the view looking down, it reminded me of Amalfi coast a lot.

The pictures above here are from the Millionaire Suite, they have a few of them on a cul de sac at the highest point of the resort, amazing views.  Of course butler included.

The first pic above is one of the Millionaire Suites, looks like a house/very residential.  The 2nd pic is the same layout and area as my favourite accommodation but its on the 2nd floor, so no private plunge pool but you do get a soaking tub on your balcony, i have had a few couples enjoy this accommodation for sure.

The table is where i would have at least one meal a day at the Italian Restaurant, i just loved it up there and rarely left my suite or that area.

the paths/grounds are tropical and lovely

The main pool and where all the action happens during the day, you can stay right there too if you like being in the middle of everything.

All the resorts have the Benihana style restaurants with the action chef, so much fun.  The pic of the boat was taken from my patio, it was like watching a movie, cruise ships going in/out of the main harbor area in the distance, sunset yacht cruises, speedboats, it was never boring.

Let me get you there for a vacation or honeymoon or a Destination wedding small or large.  Groups of couples, friends (as long as willing to share a bed, they are couples resorts unless you got to one of the Beaches resorts).  When you compare the accommodation, and add in the airport transfers (1 1/2 hours from the airport), all the food/beverage all day/evening you can eat and drink, resort activities and entertainment included, plus you can go and eat at the restaurants and enjoy the pools/bars at the other 2 resorts/transport included, you are winning/ahead of any other resorts you could be considering in the Caribbean.

I post pics on my @lisasimpsonweddings insta as well as @caribbeanallinclusive

Let me take you there

Fashion Island Hotel NYE wedding

It seems every 3 years i get a NYE wedding, and i don’t mind at all.  You see people not just celebrating a wedding but really celebrating, lol.

So the weather held out for us and it wasn’t that cold so we kept the ceremony outdoors, that blur you see is a chandelier that EBD Floral did as well as all the florals, unfortunately their photographer was a guest and from England and he promised to get me pics but never did, so i am finally posting this with my iPhone pics, so sorry.

Inside the ballroom where the dinner/dance was held, the lighting, dancefloor, draping along the service wall & chargers were done by my TMMPRO team, yay as always.  The dessert table was done by Simply Sweet Cakery, and the band was a cover band of the Dave Matthews Band, the bride LOVES and i mean LOVES Dave Matthews Band, don’t think its Dave Matthews more than the band, but who knows, lol, she has been to a few hundred concerts/somewhat follows them around.  So after dinner when the dancing got going Tracey was on that dancefloor singing/knew the words to every single song.  I loved watching the groom sitting at their table just enjoying watching her have fun.  We saw the NY in in style with balloons and a group photos of everyone on the dancefloor who made it till then, these people partied!!!

Now what Tracey never knew through our planning months was that one of my husband and my good friend is best friends with Dave Matthews Tour Manager and we have been backstage and to a concert which was fab, so i reached out to the tour manager to see if on the wedding day i could have Dave call my cell and i could have him personally wish her a happy wedding day, alas they were on xmas break and Dave was not to be bothered/family time etc, geez, lol, so instead i gave them the brides address and when she got home from honeymoon there was a package from Dave Matthews to her where he had signed a bunch of stuff for her.  She was thrilled and surprised.

Till next time

Ritz Laguna Sunset Terrace/Plaza Wdg

Sophia is just a sweetheart, loved working with her!  She is a religious lady (2nd time for both of them and the groom let us plan everything, he just showed up, lol!!) and she had a vision for a cross at the altar area of the ceremony and she got one, i think you will agree it looked very beautiful and spiritual with the sunset in the background.

No initials or names/date on her dancefloor, she wanted the word ‘love’, i loved that!

thanks to Joe Latter for the photos, much better than my iPhone ones, lol, Design Visage for hair/makeup, Peter/Vive Entertainment for music in all areas, and my TMMPRO team for the lighting which included bistro lights on Plaza Balcony for cocktails and later in the evening when guests were out there/my curved couches we do on the balcony/dancefloor+decal and the Chiavari chairs.  And of course to our team mates at the Ritz Laguna, together we make dreams come true xoxoxox

Bel Air Bay Club, Malibu

I am fortunate to have been here for a few events so was thrilled when Kelly reached out to me to help her and mom plan her wedding to Ed here.

You are the only wedding taking place so it feels very exclusive, the views are amazing and the lounge/lobby room is so large that if the weather meant you could not do your ceremony/cocktails outside, you can do it all inside without affecting the ballroom at all.

From the beginning it was all about greenery and Flowers by Cina exceeded Kelly’s vision expectation, I even had to close my eyes when i saw Sarah up on a high ladder putting greenery on the chandeliers in the main part of the ballroom.  It all felt very natural and in keeping with the views/feel of the venue, and very Kelly.  A cool option here is that there are about 12 hotel rooms that you can offer to guests if interested, but for their wedding everyone stayed at Loew’s in Santa Monica and we had coach transport to bring guests back/forth.  Angelica Strings provided cere/cocktail music, Design Visage did hair/makeup, Miki and Sonja/photographers provided the pics above, thank you, Shane Productions did the video, Luxe Linens provided all the linens/napkins.  After dinner the guests were surprised with a traditional Lion Dance which payed homage to Kelly’s heritage, and a Photobooth opened up in the courtyard, and guests could spread out wherever they wanted, if they were not on that dancefloor getting down to Full Spectrum Band, again, very happy guests/couple at the end with how good that band is!!  It was a great experience doing a wedding there and i look very forward to the next one for sure, watch out ladies, i will be back, lol!! xoxox

Hyatt HB Fountain Room wedding

I mean really, we get to work with the loveliest couples.  When Erin and Jon first met with me I knew we were going to create a beautiful intimate celebration for them.

Draping Fountain Room completely transforms it.  I have actually had couples be offered a ballroom with windows as the day got closer and one was open and we have opted not to because the vision for the Fountain Room is perfecto!!

So the age old question, which way does the decal on the dancefloor go.  I always give my couples the choice, they can read it from their table and if the cake is opposite them it will be the right way if in any pics while they are cutting it, or we have it to where it reads the right way for guests when they enter the room but upside down from the B&G table, again always depending on the setup, no right or wrong, but if you see a decal and think oops it’s upside down, when it’s my couples I have asked and they made the decision, lol!

Our ceremony was at Ca Courtyard, cocktails were then at the Fountain Courtyard and Foyer, and then into Fountain Room we went and yes there were oohs/aaahs from the ladies as they entered, draping/beautiful flowers and lighting/candles will do that!!

Center front of the room was the royal table for the Bridal party (linens/napkins by Luxe Linen), the wedding cake by Sweet Traders was on the other side of the dancefloor from B&G table, Fountain Room has a wee alcove in one corner and that is where we put Jeff/Moondance Mobile Music who was our mcee&dinner/dance music guru.  Naples strings provided the ceremony and cocktail music. EBD Floral knocked it out of the park again as always.  Design Visage for hair/makeup, and TMMPRO did the draping/dancefloor&decal/lighting/chiavaris in the ballroom and bistro lighting out in the Courtyard as guests were able to enjoy that area after sunset also.  I think all the photos here are by the McCunes, none are mine for a change, so Gloria knows what i am looking for for my blogs, lol.  And of course thanks to the great peeps at Hyatt HB, we have been blessed to be doing weddings with you since the resort opened, 17 years ago!

Till next time

Intimate Montage Laguna wedding

Kimberly and Stuart had a lovely intimate wedding celebration for around 30 guests at Montage Laguna.  We did the wedding on a Thursday and just had to have the ceremony done prior to Studio (their top restaurant) opening which gave us the best ocean view backdrop on the lawn next to Studio, then we did cocktails at the back of the lawn, then a lovely dinner and guests got to relax/socialize and then as a bonus, an event was happening on the center lawn with a band so some guests sat at the guest table we had outside on the patio and just enjoyed the music until the end.

We brought in the chargers/napkins and had the hotel rent chiavaris for us.  Paul Uhlar officiated the ceremony and Karen’s Flowers provided the floral (no insta or website).  It was really a lovely celebration.  Thanks to the team at Montage for being awesome as always and treating a wee wedding as if it was the most important event in the hotel.

Till next time

Shutters Santa Monica wedding

This was our first Shutter’s wedding and we couldn’t wait.  With a ceremony site and cocktail area, that has those lovely sand and ocean views to the lovely Grand Salon that is an intimate ballroom that has a grand feel, thanks to the mirrors on the walls, beautiful chandeliers and the fireplace/center, yes a working fireplace in a larger ballroom, Lorena & Ramu’s wedding was going to be fabulous.

I love it when i get to take OC vendors past the border to LA, lol.  So thanks to Design Visage for hair/makeup, Paul Uhlar for the lovely service as always, Peter/Vive Entertainment for all the music, Karen’s Flowers (no insta or website) Wedding cake by the Butterend, yum, Chiavari chairs and chargers by TMMPRO, Tony Florez Photography, and Viral Booth OC for the Photobooth we surprised the guests with in the roomy foyer after dinner.  Thanks to the fab team at Shutters, we had a great time working with you all xoxox

Ritz Carlton Laguna Destination Wedding

Oh how I loved Jen and Mark, and thanks to Facebook keep in touch and can see what is going on in their lives.  Such lovely families, and everyone who travelled out was there to celebrate for sure.  Did you know 80% of my couples do not live in CA and that has been for most of my career, so working by email/phone/internet is very easy for me and that takes a lot of stress off my couples.

Ceremony was on the Monarch Bay Sunset Terrace Lawn, cocktails were on Plaza Balcony and then into Plaza Room we went, with the use of the balcony all night too where we had placed some curved benches & pillows from Chiavari Chair Rentals.

They wanted a headtable for Mark’s children, their parents and siblings which equalled 14, more than a guest round could seat, so we made an oval table where we placed people all the way around except right infront of the B&G, then we had 4 guest rounds, and guess what, for any of you that know Plaza know how amazing this is, we had a 5 piece band in there too, a party band.  Yes, when you work with the right vendors they make it work, and as Jen and Mark will tell you, Full Spectrum Band were a huge hit and people still talk about their band.  Jen actually messaged me a few months ago as she had forgotton their name and had a friend getting married somewhere in the USA that wanted her band!!!  Thanks Joe Latter for the photos, i got none for some reason myself, Bishop Brian for the wonderful Catholic style service as always, Design Visage for hair/makeup, EBD for all the florals, lighting/dancefloor/draping/chiavaris in Plaza by TMMPRO (the draping transforms that room BTW, softens and makes it very romantic, people always do a ‘ oooohhh’ when they come in), linens/napkins by Luxe Linens and for ceremony/cocktail music we had a lovely man Daniello who plays Spanish/Italian/French songs by guitar and sings also, very romantic/European.  And as always, can’t do a thing without the co-operation/support of a pals at the Ritz Laguna!!

Till next time

Fashion Island Hotel Wedding Reception

Worked with the loveliest mother of bride and a bride with a lot of style who also plans events, so we had some lovely elements incorporated.  Church Ceremony, cocktails were held at the Cabana Room Patio, then guests were escorted to the ballroom foyer where they found their placecard on this fab placecard table, then into the ballroom they went….

We draped the service wall which really helps transform the ballroom as its not centered to the foyer doors which puts the service doors behind a little off, draping/lighting/dancefloor+decal by my pals at TMMPRO, headtable by Chiavari Chair Rentals (who obviously do a lot more than chairs, lol), the nice thing about Fashion Island Hotel is that the gold chiavaris come with it if gold is your accent.  Any the pastry chef at the hotel does amazing cakes, so even if not looking to feed everyone having a smaller one where you get to take it for the next day brunch or to enjoy when you have time is a great idea.

Florals by EBD who always make my couples so happy, Linens/napkins by La Tavola, and Laura Jane Studio was our live artist painting the ballroom scene, she was by the entrance doors so got lots of attention, have used her a few times since this wedding.  All music handled by Jeff/Moondance Mobile Music, fab to work with as always, calm/reads the crowd well, it’s not about him being the star!  And to our friends at Fashion Island Hotel, we love being there and look forward to many many more  xoxox

Till next time

Our first wedding at Pasea

I was going to be on an anniversary trip to Europe, in fact in Ravello/Amalfi Coast when Nisha’s 2 day wedding event we were handling was going to happen, so Nicole took over and oversaw both days events, but as we know Nicole gets busy and doesn’t take pics for me, lol, and when i looked back through the photographers photos, the detail pics i would have loved were not taken it seems, so i don’t have any of the ceremony area without people or any ballroom pics without people, not sure what happened!!  But anyway I digress, Nicole and i had a great final detail meeting with Nisha at the hotel where there may or may not have been champagne enjoyed, hmmmm??!! lol

The sangeet was held the night prior at the Newland Barn in Huntington Beach, a really neat venue that worked out well, and the wedding day was the first wedding we had done at Pasea which had opened just recently.  The driveway of the hotel was perfect for the baraat and our groom came in on a red mustang.  They liked color as you can see from the ceremony guest canopies and the B&G stage in the ballroom.  Wish i had more pics to share.

Till next time
