Hyatt Huntington Beach Wedding

Mindy and Scott were just a delight, so happy from beginning to end!!

Their florist who is no longer doing business actually moved the floral circle from the ceremony to behind their sweetheart table, yay, we built time in for that, lol.  Sweet Traders did the beautiful cake, TMMPRO did the lighting for us (see what a proper cake pinspot should look like!!), and Invisible Touch provided the strings for the ceremony/cocktails and Frank was our dj/mcee and did a fabulous job as always.  And the wonderful team at Hyatt HB were as always, a pleasure to partner with. xoxox

All outdoor wedding-Ritz-Carlton Laguna

Did you know that 80% of my couples do not live in S CA, so that means that the majority of my weddings you see at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna are Destination weddings, with 100% of the guests flying/driving into CA from elsewhere.  So when you see the end result, it’s because of the trust my couples give me to lead them in the direction of great vendors that work for the budget we have/can create the vision and allow the style of event the couple wants, happen, that we end up here, with happy couples and guests that had a great wedding experience.

From the beginning Christine wanted everything outdoors, they had the option of going indoors for the dancing after 10pm but that was not what she was looking to do, so we timed everything out so when 10pm came everyone would be feeling good/wedding ends on a note that no one was looking for more, except maybe some after event drinks up in the lobby bar!!  I have been very fortunate that when we have done these all outdoor celebrations, someone is taking care of mother nature for me and my couples and the weather has always turned out perfectly, whew!!  Remember, we are on a cliff by the ocean, wind, sun, cold, can all be factors that we hope stay away.

We put some lighting in the trees around the dining/dancing area which after dark looked great especially with all the candles on the dining tables, thanks to TMMPRO and EBD Floral for the great job they did as always, and my ride or die, Peter/Vive Entertainment did the music from pre-ceremony till 10pm and boy did they dance!!  As always couldn’t have a great celebration without the team at Ritz-Carlton Laguna, from Michele who sells the dream, to our service managers who put up with all my niggling detailing, to the banquet captain and team on the floor that know what i need and expect without me having to ask at times xoxoxox

Till next time

Rancho Las Lomas wedding beauty

At the time of this wedding, Kira who worked at Rancho Las Lomas said it was the most beautiful one they had done there, and i feel like it may still be!!!

This was the 2nd wedding for this family i had done, the older sister of the groom about 5 years earlier and the mom had always stayed in touch with me, telling me it would be soon we would be doing Anthony’s wedding.

Linda knew what she wanted from the get go, a garden feel, people sitting under tree branches etc, at one point we were doing the dining/dancing up where we ended up doing the ceremony, we were all over the place with the excitement of what we were going to be creating.  Square Root of course, Alex, were the team I knew could make it happen and they sure did.

Lots of fun elements from beginning to end for the lucky guests that attended, Boyz 2 Men surprised the bride with her favourite song when we were about to get the dancing going and they did a fabulous performance that the guests could not get enough of.  Needless to say our Groom who made that happen was probably in the good books for many many months after the wedding!! lol

Again Linda’s vision was a key for the guests with their table assignment/meal choice on it, and SR built this awesome wall for us to hang them on.  The ceremony area had an entrance arch and beautiful greenery surround and the dining/dancing area was greenery and chandeliers for miles, very very beautiful.  I happen to love chandeliers so i was in a bit of heaven for this one.  We brought in a dancefloor and of course did the decal which as the center of the dining/dancing area just finished things off perfectly.

Mix of long and round tables, no matter what they were sitting at the guests were in awe

As day became night the chandeliers and lighting around the dining area just created magic

We had a beautiful backdrop for the sweetheart table and had left an amount of space behind the sheart table, so while tables were waiting for their entrees, we had them go up table by table and stand behind B&G at their table and that is how we got table shots with the B&G, they didn’t have to go anywhere!!   Our pre cere/ceremony & cocktail music was by Ipoa String Quartet and it was great to work with Hilo Productions for the dinner/dancing portion of the event, because the Boyz 2 Men portion was a surprise, he had to work with me at times, stalling, changing track, in order to keep us on time as we had to end all music downstairs at 10pm and then we sent everyone upstairs to the enclosed party room for the after party, where we had desserts and cut wedding cake (all by Simply Sweet Cakery) waiting for them as well as great dance music by Hilo Productions, a Photobooth and Hobo Co was making pizzas for people to enjoy at the party or take for the road.  Thanks to Micheal Anthony Studios for being a star to work with that day and provided the good photos above (some of which i have used on my website as header pics) and to the team at 24 Carrots for as always being great to work with when we have an event at Rancho Las Lomas. xoxoxox

Ritz-Carlton Marina Del Rey Wedding Reception

What a lovely family we got to work with on this wedding.  Jamie and her dad were the planners for the majority of things, i loved how involved dad was.  The ceremony was at a church about 10 mins away from the Ritz, we were lucky and there was not a ceremony using the ceremony space at the hotel which is really lovely, so we got to use that for cocktails and then up to the smaller ballroom we went for the dinner/dance, which also has a lovely wrap around balcony which you can see the ceremony site, pool area and boats in the marina/water, views from!!

I love how no matter where my weddings may take me/where they may be, i have a team of willing vendors to go with me, lol.  Design Visage prettied everyone up.  EBD Florals did the church and ballroom, TMMPRO did my dancefloor and chiavaris as always, and Peter/Vive Ent did our cocktail and dinner/dance music/mceeing and a great job as always.  It was my first wedding at Ritz-Carlton Marina Del Rey, though I had been there for a couple of events, it was great to be there and work with the team, and are looking very forward to being back again. xoxoxox

Nixon Library Indian Wedding

Well this was the first of both children’s weddings that we did for this family.  The mom of the bride was a hoot and kept me laughing a lot.

Our groom came in on Daisy, a horse we use a lot for our Indian Weddings, Drea did our brides hair and makeup and dressed her.  My favourite officiant for Indian Weddings, Shukavek Dasa officiated, Special Occasions/Parag did an excellent job from baraat through to the closing of the dancefloor.  Simply Sweet Cakery provided the cake, White House Catering were great to work with for the food/beverage and service staff, and Matei provided some of the photos above, the better ones, lol, mine are the darker/fuzzy ones.  And it was great to be back at Nixon Library, it had been a while.

Till next time

Hyatt Huntington Beach Intimate Wedding

Hyatt Huntington Beach has quite a few smaller rooms for intimate weddings.  It makes a great mix to have the ceremony with the ocean/beach backdrop (which they did using the Lighthouse Lawn angled to the sunset) and then come to a smaller room with or without windows where the dinner/dance becomes the focus, no distractions.  This is the Sandpiper room which has its own patio area for cocktails, but actually opens onto the Red Chair Lounge Patio and for some weddings we take over that space also and have access to the Red Chair Lounge, so something to consider for weddings of 80 or less.  For Shay’s wedding she wanted to be different and have a black base, so we did the black linens the hotel offers and got black chiavaris and dancefloor from TMMPRO along with hot pink uplights to add some pizzazz and that was one of her colors.  We also had duo steeldrums from Essense Entertainment for the pre ceremony/ceremony and cocktail time, which really gave the guests a beachy vibe/feel for the event, and then after dinner surprised them all with belly dancers who put on a great show, as an omage to Shay’s heritage.  A really fun wedding.  What i love about what i do and my couples, each wedding i do is different, either by vendor team selected, vision, style etc.  Its not them having to fall into MY brand/style of wedding.

Great vendor team on this one, Joel Austell photographer, Paul Uhlar officiated with his lovely voice and words, cake by Creative Cakes one of the Hyatt HB cake partners, and the dinner/dancing music from Peter/Vive Entertainment who is the best when it comes to reading crowds and giving them what they want/when they want/need it.  And of course our friends at Hyatt HB, partners for life xoxoxox

Charmaine and Mike’s Hyatt HB wedding

I really enjoyed the journey with this couple, and it didn’t end with their wedding, i got to send them on their honeymoon and Charmaine fulfilled a dream of hers, swimming with the pigs in Exuma/Bahamas!!  They stayed at the 2 Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas, all inclusive, had a butler and got private transfers on the mainland in a Rolls Royce!!

Anyway, back to the wedding….. The ceremony was on the CA Courtyard lawn (which now has astroturf, yayyy), cocktails were on the balcony looking out to Huntington Beach sand and the Pacific Ocean, and the dinner/dance was in the Vista Ballroom, the room we have been in the most for the past 17 years of doing weddings there.  Charmaine put a spin on things though, she didn’t want the guests walking in to the side of the setup which is normal in there due to the windows along the balcony being considered the front or the back, depending on what view the B&G want or want their guests to have.  I remember her saying, ‘why can’t we be on that side wall’, and i said, ‘you are right, why not’ and that is what we did.  I actually loved how it all worked out.

Another fab vendor team on board for this one, Sarah Mack Photography (her pics are the good ones above, mine the dark ones, lol), Peter/Vive Entertainment provided all the music, Flower by Cina provided all the florals, Design Visage prettied everyone up, and our family at Hyatt HB/Cheryl and the team provided the dancefloor and chiavaris and their always lovely food and service by the banquet team xoxoxoxo
